I do hope we put more emphasis on the run game this year with the young quarterback. I don't know if there was a drop of in talent but we were spoiled with all those quality running backs. That was an era of talent. I will say Jay Ducker. Looks like Kenny Gainwell. Don't know about his receiving capabilities.

I think Ducker as well. He will eventually become the main guy.

07-coffee3 I don't know anything about Jay Ducker but I read that he was a good running back but lacked speed. Did you see him in action at any time ?

He only caught 1 ball last year but was their leading rusher so not sure what the game plan was there…… Asa Martin might be our guy out of the backfield?

BT was a beast last year until he got injured. Dreke Clark. Asa Martin. Andarius Coffey. Marquavius Weaver. Jay Ducker. I think we have one of the most talented rb rooms in the country right now.

I don't know who it'll be, but two running backs needs to step up and take the role. Tired of seeing 4+ running backs getting carries.

Lots of talent - we’ve shown in the past we can get them all touches. I’ll venture a guess at BT, but it can be any of these guys.

Brandon Thomas rushed for 669 yards last year and averaged 5.8 yards a carry. If I was a betting man, would likely put my money on him.

Agreed - pre-injuries, our rush game was really solid last year. Expecting a big bounce back this year.

I think Ducker. Hopefully we get back to those days where we have 2 to 3 guys with great numbers!

RE: Leading Rusher
Thomas will be the RB, Ducker will operate out of the slot (like Pollard). 4 or 5 will get touches. There is as much talent now as there ever has been. What is in doubt is the scheme. The Tiger running game was electric when the team was spread out and practically every play was rpo. If you set up your rbs to only have to beat 1 or 2 defenders there is a much better chance for them to make big plays; and that makes for exciting football. I have a better feeling about this season than last. If the defense can get off the field and give the offense room to operate, a conference title is very feasible.

We need to throw the Deep Ball and open up the running game, Seth can go Deep and we’re loaded at running back

I'm gonna go out on a limb here...and say Jayvon Ducker. Kid had a helluva 8? game stretch for Northern Illinois last season. Imagine what he mighta done had he started every game last year.
