My favorite is the "black-over-metallic red", C-Paw we used in 2009...

I'd like to see a modern version of the '63 logo as the new logo.

I am glad to see your post because the Chk-Fil-A logo invariably prompts the Bearcats in my mind. I thought I was just me. :)

Eh... People say the same thing about the Washington Nationals "W" and the Walgreens logo.

Cincy should sue Chik-fil-A. I'm pretty sure Cincy came first, lol.

...may have been just once a few programs started using them, others said, "Hey that's neat ('30s-'40s' lingo 03-drunk ) - why don't WE get one of those made up for our hometown Wombats?" Branding back then was not NEARLY as prevalent for schools - so this may well have been the first 'mass logo use' for the sport. It's interesting that the 'Occidental Tiger' was the 'source' of these, but I guess they must have had a decent football program back in the day... If you missed it, check my post just before the one with all the pics for a link to the 'history' of the dude who designed these... 04-rock

...cool and unique logo/mascot in the Citronauts! But I do think the Knights are of interest, only because we Dragons always have to be on the lookout for any lurking about... hopefully we can see a Knights vs. Dragons game somewhere down the road, once we are each settled into our respective conferences... 04-cheers

I love our 80's pirate logo and our current midfield/midcourt logo. Hated all of our wordmarks from the 00's where the East in East Carolina was never capitalized. I know UH and Cincy have more or less used the same logo for 40 years, but feel free to chime in as well.

[Image: east_carolina_pirates_logo_primary_19839180.png]

That one, and the ECU with the line under it in the 90s really stick a nostalgic cord with me. Neither there nor there on the wordmark logo changes.

I did like the ECU with the sword underneath though.

I have very faint memories of the Pirates Script logo... I like it.... but it feels 70-s80s to me.

Changing logos is always difficult, but I think most Niners like our new one. Our old "C-pick" was four colors and difficult to reproduce. We certainly solved that problem. This graphic really defines our rational. Our old logo is top left on the left, and the new logo is top left on the right.

I think the new c-pick will have some staying power.

Now how about let’s see one of the old Charlotte Owls logos?

My favorite 5... ranked.

5) We wore this for one game, I think.
[Image: ?u=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.sportslogos.net%2F...amp;nofb=1]

4) This was before my time but I love the Pirate script look.
[Image: ?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ebayimg.com%2Fimages%...amp;nofb=1]

3) This was before my time but I love the look.

2) The old skull and crossbones logo, pre-update.
[Image: 2009-9-ecu-vs-virginia-tech.png?1606922930]

1) My all-time favorite. ECU was playing great football, and it was a CLEAN look. Loved the sabre under the ECU. This will likely always be my favorite.
