I don't know how to embed a Tweet, but that is from Kyle Rowland and says the game will stream on Twitter.

Puerto Rico Trip Questions
Maddox and Farmer started, not that it means much now. So far its a 3 point shooting contest

RE: Puerto Rico Trip Questions
I believe we have found Klay Thompson in the transfer portal with the addition of Andre Lorentsson... Dante Maddox looks good, Cochran alright, good seeing Edu back out there. Doubling their score at the half, overall team looks pretty good.

RE: Puerto Rico Trip Questions
First half observations, from someone who hasn't watched that much MBB the last couple seasons:

70 - 35 UT at the half (well like three seconds left and they can't get the clock to work)

- AJ seemed to move fine
- Simmons did not see the floor until less than a minute left. Davis did not. Wallace did not seem to be there.
- Played basically 2 different 5-man squads, swapping them at TOs, with some mix/match with Jacobi floating between.
- Lorentsson & Edu on the floor at the same time
- The Swede can shoot - he hit 4 or 5 threes and none touched rim (missed a couple)
- Everybody pretty much was draining threes like they were layups
- RayJ looking to match Marreon's range, taking a couple 30ish footers
- Rockets played some 1-2-2 trap press for a while
- Some sloppy ball handling at times
- Good D against over-matched competition

Don't plan to watch the 2nd half.

RE: Puerto Rico Trip Questions
pretty dominant first 25 minutes and then got a little raggedy and the defensive energy waned.

- moss looked pretty comfortable running point and his jumper looks better
- farmer is so quick and active it's gonna be hard to keep him off the floor
- AJ moved well. the physical side looks fine. his offensive game has some rust, or maybe it just hasn't developed with so much time spent rehabbing injuries and not playing.
- honestly, never been much of a tyler cochran fan. trying to let that go as he's a rocket now. he had some sloppy play, but can get things done on defense. not sure what his role will be with this team and it may take a minute to figure it out.
- maybe it was the keith wade debut hot shooting, but lorentsson might be a problem. he can really shoot, shows confidence in his shot and has the size and quick release to get a look even when well guarded. wasn't great on defense, but the shot is legit.
- maddox should fit right in. good attacking the rim and complements it with a nice outside shot. seems to rarely make a poor play on either end.
- dennis, shumate and milner were mostly sharp.
- wilson always seems so close. active and athletic but doesn't always finish plays.
- jacobi played well, but we know his challenge is scoring inside against big and athletic players which this opponent didn't really have. he looks like he's added some muscle.

It appears that, for those that missed it, the game replay is still viewable at the link shown above. Don't know how long that will stay that way.

RE: Puerto Rico Trip Questions
These teams we have played miss a ton of bunnies. Toledo had a billion sloppy plays but made a ton of threes (NBA style, shoot it after 1 pass). Im not sure what to take out of these games, but bonding and chemistry building is good.

The game today had better camera work, but no scoreboard except shots during timeouts. Not a bad way to spend my evening in August.

Shumate managed to get ejected from an exhibition game. He obviously is playing with intensity whenever he is on the court.

RE: Puerto Rico Trip Questions
saw most of the replay of the 2nd game. a few takeaways

Better opponent. like team #1 they had their share of fat guys and short guys, but this group could ball and made plenty of tough jumpers.

A feisty JT Shumate getting thrown out after about 3 minutes of PT for starting a fight with a bald 250 lb 34 year old man. JT was playing like garbage and when the old dude got away with holding him twice on a possession shumate went after him, pushed him hard in the chest, and then charged him again before being held back. ref immediately tossed him.

despite that our returning starters generally had a very good trip. milner is still very good. shumate will be again. dennis was sharp and shot the 3 well. moss looks quicker and a more confident ballhandler and shooter (he didn't really defend hard in PR, but worked on his pg game). all played minor minutes in game 2

I see Maddox as the 5th starter. he was consistently good. really defends hard. scores a bit from everywhere. had a couple sloppy plays but was generally efficient and solid in all facets.

AJ broke out a bit in the 2nd game. had a big dunk and another pretty layup on a dive to the rim. rebounded well. overall offense not good but when he keeps it simple he's getting close. had an ugly slip and twisting fall on a wet spot early in the game and for a second it looked like blew out another knee, so it was great to see him jump back up.

Cochran had a better game 2 as well, hit some jump shots. weird player, does a lot of unorthodox things on both ends. shot an open 12 foot jumper with his left hand for no particular reason (he's right handed). he's strong, wide and smart and gets good position around the glass. he's not tall so he doesn't get all that many boards but he makes it tougher for other players to get them cleanly, sometimes even pushing his own teammates out of position.

Lorentsson didn't hit iron on 6 of 8 threes in game 1, but in game 2 barely drew iron on a first half of missed everythings. to his credit, came back to hit a couple 3's in second half. defense needs work.

TK used some interesting lineups: a moss, cochran, maddox, edu, lorentsson group played together a lot. farmer played in various pairings and tried to score all the time regardless of who he played with.

simmons does the exact same move everytime he gets a post touch. back down with 1 power dribble. pick the ball up. sorta fake right and pivot back to an obvious power layup with his strong left hand. the old PR forwards were all over it. otherwise, looked more comfortable in game 2.

lotta bricks in the first half. good second half. stretches of real good play. TK played this game with his starters and sub rotation 1 through 13, just left in the subs for longer stretches.

Dennis, Moss, Milner, Shumate and Cochran

2nd unit was

Moss at pg Edu, Lorentsson, Maddox, Farmer, with Dennis relieving Moss and Wilson for someone else about halfway through. lots of offense through maddox in this group. Jacobi got in for the last 7 minutes. Simmons and Davis the last 3.

Cochran will have a role on defense. not sure how he fits on offense yet.

Edu was lousy in his first rotation, but had a good 2nd half. Same for Farmer.

Rockets had a lot of dunks, and a few big misses. no lack of trying to score style points in this one.

we are really lucky to have rayj dennis for 2 more years. the young man is slick.

Lorentsson will play. not convinced he will be an impact guy, but there's a chance. this bench can score and defend.

scary moment in 1st half when milner took off from 2 feet like superman on a fastbreak from about 10 feet away to get on sportscentr. got fouled by the first defender on the arm and then undercut near his hip by the help defender behind and took an awkward scary fall but got up OK. looks like we survived the summer season intact.
