Oregon and Washington ADs not in attendance at PAC Media Days...
They've attended this event in previous years.

This week has been an interesting one. At what point do the other PAC schools start to panic?

I was listening to Adam Rittenberg via Twitter and it was a great conversation, very informative. Also, some interesting BIG expansion talk too! Take a listen.

Nah. I'm sure will get a recycled article by the Three Stooges of PAC 12 propaganda that reports on the 'near' majority of PAC 12 ADs in attendance.

Rittenberg believes additional expansion is more likely once the B1G deal is signed. Will it be UO WU, or Stanford ND? I don't think they will take all four together.

IF Stanford goes, I don't think that is a tipping point for a mass exodus of PAC teams to the Big 12. SDSU would definitely be added at that point if the Zona schools and Colorado hold.

However, if it's ND & UO or WU??? All bets are off. Stanford and Cal may consider independence at that point.

well, I'm sure there will be plenty of ZOOM meetings afoot, which I guess would at least be the equivalent of "we were there in spirit"... 05-stirthepot

The Pac 12, a conference of 12 schools standing strong together and - wait, how many AD's showed up? Shoot...

The Pac 12, a conference of 5 schools standing strong together and the future is...oh never mind, it's over.

Nothing against the Pac 12, unfortunately, a lot of bad decisions and schools that never really took athletics serious enough. Don't blame the ones that wanted sports to progress for being bad, it's what they had to do to stay competitive. It sucks for many, I don't like a lot of this, but what do you want them to do?

Can you link that update? I found this saying that the Oregon AD is actually there and it was a mistake to report otherwise:

Oregon, Washington and Stanford on a conference call with the Big 10, the 4 corners on a conference call with the Big 12?

I don't think Stanford (thus Cal) are going anywhere. Listening to Pac media day, I'm convinced the only 3 who could be leaving soon are UA, WA, OR. Everything coming out of the commissioners mouth in regard to the new landscape of college athletics sounds similar to what Stanford have publicly stated over the last year in regard to NIL and the treatment of athletes as employees. s

I think Whittingham says what everyone is saying in the PAC. There is a nucleus of schools that is committed to one another (there is a block) but not to the PAC conference as there is a belief that the move to super conferences is inevitable, and insomuch historical conferences are now anachronistic and only as relevant as whatever short-term media rights package they can offer.

Who is in that block is open for discussion, and I doubt that commitment would hold up to selective poaching by the B1G. But unless the B1G comes calling, I think that most of the PAC schools will either leave or stay en bloc.

Utah’s AD did not attend last year. Probably among those not attending this year. And there was no media day the prior year. I think he may have attended in his first year.
