Not very high on ECU like some are here. Down at #73.

We have to earn our place. As long as we are trending upward I am happy at this point. Anything is better than where we came from. I am optimistic, but not overly optimistic. Trudging through the bottom of FBS was not fun.

They have ECU 6th which is pretty reasonable. I think they could end up being a top 4 team in the conference, but middle of the pack is probably the safest best.

More people agree Temple will finish last than who will win the conference.

If you set Tier breaks at 30pts differences

Tier 1:
Houston
Cincy
UCF
(38 pt drop)

Tier 2:
SMU
Memphis
ECU
(42 pt drop)

Tier 3:
Tulane
Tulsa
USF
Navy
(33 pt drop)

Tier 4:
Temple

Not surprising as this is year 1 of a massive rebuild project. Carey was beyond a disaster of a coach as the timing for us being bad falls in the midst of realignageddon. Drayton is bringing back excitement to the program and more importantly recruits. But it is a big rebuild job.

this is such a wild disingenuous take... people are coming at me for the things i said, i dont go after people for their opinions

i said houston is the favorite in the both sports (in a point not even related to that), and was insulted by multiple because poster of it..

with you, i said memphis schedule is too hard and you and memphis fans had issue with it.. almost all our debates are you going at me for saying something related to memphis and you being sensitive about it (you dont like someone's opinion, not the other way round.. like: me" "penny shouldn't be so loud with his national championship claims, might create some backlash" triplea "coming at me why its fine")

you just randomly decided to take shots at me this morning why?

Maybe my memory is bad, but I don't recall defending Penny's claims about nattys. Personally, I think it's a mistake.

In fact, I think the whole "all the smoke" thing is a bad idea. It has bitten us in the butt more than once.

you did, you stated the notion of how every coach should have that stance .. you werent saying that memphis was going to win te national title, but that his stance is what every coach should have and should be okay to say .. you also pointed out how you found it amusing that it was bothering so many people including UK fans

my response was that it being unnecessary pressure and unwarranted backlash doing it so publicly (which ended being what happened)... this wasn't you but then a different memphis fan came back with retort that penny isnt sacred and doesnt do the coach speech. that our coaches are just scared ..there are like 7 threads about this

and that bring me to my point, im the only one who talks about every team and can have a conversation about their team.. im not every pissing match, im every "all kinds" of conversation... for the best aac team everyone is familiar with the elite aac teams so they all feel free to go into pissing matches but ask anyone who has the best depth in the aac in basketball...tulane is the preseason #3 aac in basketball, without googling 98% of poster here couldnt name 1 tulane non-starter

and different sources had memphis winning it too... what audacity that houston thought it was the favorite in basketball last year too..

it has to be Ponzi scheme set up by houston

--Houston highest ranked team in most major preseason top 25
--Houston gets projected in the NY6 by 90% of the too-early bowl projections

* someone asks if the board is slowing down
me:" houston is the preseason favorite for both sports and Houston fans dont be posting on this site like that as opposed to when others are on top"

-- angry ucf and uc fans- run to insult me for daring to say houston is the favorite in football

-- confirmation that houston is the favorite comes out
*uc and ucf fans still refusing to acknowledge that houston is the favorite

got to love it here

I think one thing is for certain. Houston for sure has the easier conference schedule. Zero excuses not to go undefeated in the AAC. With this kinda hype, losing a single AAC game is a bust.

Houston plays the 2 worst teams in the Big 12 in the nonconference. If Houston is truly great, this schedule is an absolute waste of a good team.

no one would consider 13-1 with a ny6 win a bust
no one would consider 12-2 with a ny6 win a bust
or 11-3 with a ny6 appearance but not a win...would be a great season

also i dont think anyone thinks houston is dominant great, there is a strong belief we can take the ship.. but i dont think most are in this is legendary status good.

and maybe its becuase basketball is overshadowing it, but not that much talk...it was crazy in the herman years, now we ad a 12-2 team, favored to be great and not that much clamoring

Maybe because you suck the air out of the room. The last thing anyone wants to do is fawn over Houston with you on the board. Saying something nice to you puts a lump in your throat.

How ?

UC plays @UCF, @SMU which are 2 of the top 4 teams both on the road. Houston plays just 1 of top 4 teams.

This league has like 4 good teams in it ranked in the CBS top 50 and Houston plays just one of them and the worst one. UC plays 2
