As for the POS attacking the woman on the subway, my Dad taught me a long time ago that men who abuse women are usually p ussies. They don’t know what to do when confronted by another man.

I once got barred from my favorite club for 3 months for confronting a loud mouth who was hassling one of the bartenders. I asked him to cut it out. He said something and I walked over and quietly asked him if he wanted to walk outside and talk about it. He didn’t. They never did.

That changed though. Next they were teaching boys that everyone who gets in a fight is guilty. They all get punished. That is almost universal school policy today.

We no longer teach our young men to fight. They don't know when to fight, and they don't know how to fight. When it is time to fight, they can't. They literally don't know what to do.

This is the result of such foolishness.

Talk about fighting. I was a regular in getting to fights at school. I earned multiple paddle pops every school year for fighting. Didn’t find out until I was 16 a HS football coach said I needed counseling for anger management. Same coach told me some players have a chip on their shoulder but I have the whole boulder.

It would never have been good for me to be in those situations. I remember threatening this AC DC shirt wearing hippie for being disrespectful to a teacher. He said to me what are you going to do? I told him that’s fun part of this equation you don’t know but I promise you will find out in the parking lot. He never said another word. But, I wanted him too. Glad I’ve mellowed out.

Issue 1 - How do the men on the subway KNOW if the man shouting at the woman IDENTIFIES as a man? What if ze actually identifies as a woman? So if another man - who identifies as a man - intervenes and somehow hurts ze, might THAT be considered an attack and lead to a possible arrest for both assault AND a hate crime (striking a ze)?

Issue 2 - How do the male onlookers KNOW this isn't some bizarre set up by the woman and the "drunk" man?

It gets confusing so that could be why the males hesitated getting involved.

Or they could be wimps.

Agree with the overall comments on this thread. America needs its men to stand up (or speak out) for what they believe to be right. Although, as you point out, there is always an accompanying risk.

I had my jaw broken in 10th grade standing up for a smaller kid that lived on my street from me who was constantly being bullied. Like you, I lived through it. But it meant that I had to sit out from sports for the first half of that year.

A) I don't doubt that if the man moved toward her she might have felt threatened.. but I don't see her asking for help prior to that point. She just tries to ignore it until that point. Fine.

B) Out of "20" men on the platform, not one stood up? What about the women... they're not helpless in this matter either. Ehh... that's the part i find hard to believe at all.

C) She comes out to chastise those people ("smooth" move lady), and they "all" start to respond to her in a derogatory manner? I'm gonna call baloney on that one.

I refuse to believe our society has sunk to that level of non-caring to start with, and it's just awfully convenient that she can't get the attention of one person to step up on a crowded platform, until one lady hugs her after the escapade is over?

Mark me as skeptical on the whole story to start with...

My thought too...in this age...where is the video evidence.

The entire incident is sad commentary on our society and a reason I stay the hell out of all urban areas as much as possible.
