Be that as it may, other countries don't feel guilty about long sentences for what we would view as minor drug offenses.

We have a very liberal definition of cruel and unusual by the larger standards of the entire world

I have a cousin who is a prison right’s activist. She was up in arms about cruel and unusual punishment at a facility where the prison library was going to receive no funds to purchase new books for a year (budgetary constraints).

It’s a disease.
