Enjoy this Nashville83

Puhleeze. Don’t get him started. Hopefully he’ll forget about trolling the Grizz fans here. Besides he’s got Ryan Tannehill in camp in a couple of weeks so that ought to keep him busy. On a positive note, Santi Aldama had 31 tonight. Yes, I know it’s only Summer League. But at 6’11” and only 21, the potential is starting to show.

I already read it and I enjoyed it, thanks. I commend Calkins for mentioning the massive funds sent to Pera and the opinion by most economists that there is little to no economic impact of pro franchises.

I disagree with subsidizing one of the richest men in the world with millions upon millions of dollars when there are pressing needs elsewhere in Memphis, but hope nothing but the best of success for the Griz while they are in Memphis.

It appears Morant is committed to bringing the Griz an NBA title. 04-cheers

BTW, I plan to move from Nashville in a few weeks (assuming all goes well). You will need a different moniker.

Memphis would not benefit from a law abiding, tax paying citizen with a measure of discretionary income and little demand on services.

I am a Saint fan. I oppose the Titan deal under discussion for reasons similar to those I stated for the Griz.

One reason I am leaving Nashville is the structural budget issues which local government refuses to address. We already had a 34% property tax increase just two years ago and another hike is inevitable within a few years. I join an exodus. Nashville is losing population.

I don't doubt that they are. I've heard it's become miserable to live, deal with construction and the god awful traffic. I don't mind visiting for a convention though.

Nobody lives there anymore, it's too crowded?

Haha….we both know Nashville isn’t losing residents. The buyer pool is probably smaller because the homes are so expensive. Not to mention, Oracle hasn’t arrived.

Downtown traffic is worse than LA. It took 1-1/2 hours just to get out of the parking garage. Too many redlights with the most god awful weight time too but we had fun.

It was definitely heavy. There were 2 concerts in venues right next to each other. One in the ascend amphitheater, the other next door in the Nissan stadium. Motley Crue, Joan Jett, Def Leppard, among others in the stadium. Both let out about the same time.

The Census Bureau disagrees: "Davidson County’s population declined by 11,533 people in 2021 to a total of 703,953." It is a 1.6% decline in just one year. https://tnsdc.utk.edu/2022/03/24/new-cen...703%2C953.

From April 2020 to July 2021, Davidson Co's population (Nashville/Davidson Co is a metro form of government) fell by 1.7%. By comparison, Shelby Co dropped only 0.6%. https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/t.../PST045221
