RE: Minister and wife robbed of 1 million dollars worth of jewelry they had on
Protestant ministers don't take a vow of poverty like Catholic priests do. I am aware of at least two ministers here in Ohio who were also prominent trial lawyers who have earned millions in their career (they've since retired from the practice of law). Another one I am aware of is an infectious disease physician who has a thriving practice.
All this being said, this minister's claim sounds very shaky- as someone else indicated sounds like he is trying to grift his insurer.

"Wolves in sheeps clothing" is what Jesus called them.
We could quote dozens of NT passages that predicted this would be common and would peak in the last days of the church age.
Its also the same thing Moses predicted would happen with Israel after He died. And it did, just as Jesus and the Apostles predicted about our time. Here we are.
Correct. And on the other end of the spectrum you've got most denominational churches that have gone liberal and are basically just a social club.
Yep
Endorsing homosexuality, teaching prosperity gospel, having rock concerts, the minister never mentions sin, never mentions hell or judgment day, never teaches salvation or the Blood of Jesus.
Meanwhile Jesus is outside knocking on the door trying to get in.

Sounds like we're on the same page. Now, if we could just get you off of being a Dallas Cowboy fan!

I'll always pull for them but I don't expect them to win a SB anytime soon.
They're a playoff team most years, but they aren't going any further than that.
Maybe after the Resurrection they can rehire Tom Landry.

The last time Tom Landry won the Super Bowl, the NFL had 28 teams and 8 of them made the playoffs, after a 14-game schedule.
Now, there’s 32 teams and 14 of them — nearly half — make the playoffs, after a 17-game schedule.
The NFL has done a lot of things (both on the field and off) to damage it’s product over the last two generations. But diluting the regular season has to rank pretty high up the list.

I fully agree, but they do it for money. Those additional regular season and playoff games rake in countless millions. They should have never gone from 6 to 8 divisions, that was total overkill and an excuse to get more teams in the playoffs. 4 team divisions is just absurd and always has been.
I just watched 2 different biographies on Tom Landry and his career today.
For all his Legendary innovations and accomplishments (he's on the NFL mount rushmore), its his unwavering faith in Jesus that stands out the most. He spent his off seasons doing missionary work and spreading the Gospel with Billy Graham and others.

Fake news.
Actually she has 4 rings and the cowboys have not won one in 26 years.

The wild-card round now consists of six games, right? It would make more sense to give that weekend to the regular season (18th game for all teams) and restricting the playoffs to 8 teams. So you would have 16 games being played that weekend instead of six. Sure, some of the games would be meaningless, but no way that 10 of them would be.

While that is unquestionably true, they did it for the same reason as dragging out the regular season and expanding the playoffs: $$$$. If you can justify one of them, why not both?

That comment makes me wonder… if the NFL had a real Mt.-Rushmore style carving somewhere, and only the 4 greatest/most-influential figures (owners, coaches, players. Media/corporate-types like Rozelle and Arledge would be excluded) in pro football history could be included, who would it be?
It’s a hard choice but I’d say:
George Halas
Vince Lombardi
Jim Brown
Tom Brady

Never go to a church where the minister/preacher is also the treasurer. Make sure the church has a group of older men called Elders in charge of all affairs especially when it comes to money.

Stop watching those ingrates after NFL went woke. My wife says she’s the biggest winner of all and she wished they would have went soke a lot sooner. I never realized how much time I spent keeping up with the NFL. Besides they have plenty of money so they don’t need mine. I got rid of all of my Cowboy memorabilia on Fleabay.
A friend just burned all of his. He was a Steeler fan I told him I would have burned it as well.
But I did call the Cowboys headquarters to ask if I could hire 6 players for pall bearers at my funeral so they could let me down one last time.
