I could never vote for DeSantis. I would consider voting for a mixed ticket but it would obviously depend on who was on it. Perhaps one of the New England/Mid-Atlantic GOP governors.

RE: Mixed Ticket?
I'd say DeSantis with Trump Jr or Kristi Noem would be the best path to victory.

All this is true but she wouldn't be any worse than Mittens, but at the end of the day, I'll pass. Here is too hoping when the DEMS win again (and they will) she is the candidate and AOC will no where to be found.

She’s genuine whether right or wrong. Mitt is fake and will stabbed you in the back when you least expect it

RE: Mixed Ticket?
Fun thing about moderates (politicians, "mixed"-tickets, ect...) is that no one will vote for them, including "moderates". Even Ross Perot didn't run as a moderate, he ran as a Protectionist Conservative. Even then, he managed to screw it up. Our politicians are already ridiculous "weather vanes" with their "extreme" positions, just imagine a politician who's entire reason is to try to please everybody. At the end of the day, for better or worse, people want an idea of where their politicians will probably land on any potential issue before pulling the trigger. A "moderate" politician or a mixed-ticket doesn't give you that level of "security".

Revelation 3:15/16 got it right:

Quote:I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

A New England/Mid-Atlantic GOP'er is basically a RINO.. They'd be more of what a Democrat used to be...

But I'm curious, why no to DeSantis as well.

Yeah. Me too. Desantis is a Republican and Gabbard is a Democrat. A very sharp one, at that.

While she's not a far left leaning Dem like AOC, she is a Dem. She is calling out the craziness she's seeing, but don't get it twisted, she had some very liberal views.

I like her more than many other Dems---but I think there are plenty of reasonable conservatives that can fill that role without having someone seeking to undermine many conservative policies inside the White House.

What would you think about a mixed ticket like Desantis/Gabbard in 2024? I may be in the minority, but I really like the idea.

In my opinion there are too many better qualified Republican candidates to run alongside of Desantis to be considering a Democrat for his running mate.

But I'm curious, why no to DeSantis as well.

He stated in a debate that he would support a ban on abortions after roughly 6 weeks. That alone disqualifies him in my eyes.

I don't support his "Parental Rights in Education Bill". Not that I think third graders or younger should be taught all the details and intricacies of sex and sexuality. I just think that the bill was written to be ambiguous and I believe the result will lead to the negative mental health of LGBT children or children with LGBT parents.

I'm against his requirement that ex-felons pay back all court fees and restitution before allowing them to vote again. For many ex-felons, this effectively prevents them from voting for years, if not ever.

I'm generally against his stances on gun control.

I also feel as the governor of a state with an average elevation of 6 feet above sea level, he'd have a more pro-active stance on climate change. I will give him credit for creating a statewide office to address coastal flooding and sea-level rise, but I feel like he's only coming up with short term solutions.

Anyway, these are just a few from the top of my head. I don't know many of DeSantis' other positions, but the ones I've listed above disqualify him (for me) in my opinion.

Fair enough.

There's no argument or point I can make on any of the above topics that'll change your mind.. Except maybe climate change..

You say that as a governor that's in a state that is 6 feet above sea level he'd be more proactive, what are your thoughts on Democrats who preach this, fly all over the world, and buy beach houses.. Doesn't that seem odd to you?

Sure does. I don't have a high opinion on most politicians. Many are massive hypocrites (i.e. Gavin Newsom not wearing a face mask at a dinner in the midst of Covid). It's just my opinion that electing democrats will give me the better chance of seeing the policies enacted that I support. Unfortunately, we live in a system where the only realistic options we are presented with come down to a Democrat or a Republican. Perhaps if there was a system that encouraged more third parties and actually gave them a shot at winning, things might be a little bit better... But who know?

Yeah. I understand and don't disagree. I was just floating the idea as a way to break up the status quo. And, Tulsi Gabbard is pretty appealing to those of us who lean more moderate. I have heard her interviewed many times over the past couple of years and it seems she isn't a swamp creature.

So you're a globalist who worships at the altar of the extremist climate religion, demands the holy sacrament of abortion in your leaders, values the rights of felons over the most innocent in society, hates the Bill of rights and thinks 5 & 6 year old children are part of the LGBTQ community.

I suddenly feel the need to throw up, take a shower and spend several hours in prayer.

May God have mercy on this fallen and evil nation.
