RE: 2022 FB schedule ranking
Pretty fair ranking. I'd say the top 6 on your list will be tough games and the bottom 6 are ones we should win, but there's always a game you play flat against a weak team and lose or barely survive. based on the roster, recent history, and schedule I'd say 8-4 is likely. 9-3 means winning every game you should win and most of the close to call ones (candle hasn't been very good in that segment of the schedule). I would expect losses to OSU and SDSU, although SDSU plays a conservative style that will probably mean a close game if we can avoid turnovers. 2-2 non conf. 6-2 in the MAC, 2nd place West or tied for 1st would be my guess. Good defense, emerging QB, mediocre line, some skill position question marks, and no reliable kicker (plus a new punter). Defense should be good enough to beat up the weaker half of the schedule, but gonna need growth to have a 3-3 or better recrod against the top half of the sched.

RE: 2022 FB schedule ranking
I predict 7-5…7-6 after a bowl loss. Losses to OSU, SDSU, CMU, NIU, and the usual Rocket let-down game against somebody else. I do think the D will keep us in every MAC game, and I think the MAC losses will be close, but weaknesses on offense & coaching lapses will be exploited.

Sadly B-Cunn, you’re probably right. We just can’t seem to get out of our own way with this current coaching staff. I see 7-5 or 8-4, no higher than third place overall so we miss yet another MACC, and another bowl loss to a less talented team.

Yup. I could see them hang around vs the 'nuts down south to get the fans excited then take a dump the following week

I'm an eternal optimist.

O will be challenged in both run game and passing game.

D will be great. This is the key. We are very strong across front and addition of Holt and Gant further strengthens OLB and edge beyond awesome group of Hines, Taylor, etc. D backfield loses 2 to pros but the talent is there. More guys headed to draft from this group (Mitchell and McD).

I think 9 to 10 wins.

I like our chances against all MAC opponents. I do believe we have superior personnel and the staff will get us there.

Go Rockets!

I just want to play a noteworthy bowl team.

Not making excuses, but im making excuses.

FIU is a god awful name that IMO is tough to get up for. App State was awesome, but the 2nd time was annoying when we just had played. MTSU is an old SBC team with not much buzz lately. I feel like "Toledo" in name carries more weight than our bowl foes have. Temple was ranked and our boys were up for it. I really dont like going down south and playing a road game vs. another 7 win team.

UC, Houston, ECU, App (now), ULL, Coastal, Marshall, Boise State, B1G... throw us a damn bone. Detroit would be a welcome destination as well, just for travel purposes.

Excitement isnt low because of the AD hire and feeling like its a make or break year... but its been higher. Our fanbase needs FUEL.

excitement is low when a team under performs year after year (since 2017), especially following all the hype from preseason MAC rankings and Signed Day ratings- they want to create excitement this season-get on a winning streak

Just got my ticket order envelop. Every year the same. I say, "not this year, too tired." Then they entice me with their evil wiles and concession coupons.

Re rank.
1. OSU- BIG LOSS
2. UB- BIG GAME
3. SDSU- UNLUCKY LOSS
4. EMU- INCONSISTENT
5. BSU- AT HOME

6. KENT- BIG WIN
7. NIU- BIG WIN

8. BG- RIVALRY GAME
9. CMU- BIG WIN
10. WMU- FOR DETROIT
11. UMASS- BIG WIN
12. LIU- WIN

Big games remain because they're in front of us still. UB could be somwhere between a BIG WIN and an unlucky close loss. But its not a standings beater, just a standings seperater. 9+ still looking good. Scrolled thru some early season threads and 7-5 seems like the main prediction for lots on here. And they even NOTED the MAC was the wost its been. Im not feeling Crow for Thanksgiving. May be serving it up in Kzoo though05-stirthepot

If Toledo played to their capabilities this could have been a 13-1 season…
But am sure a lot on this board would be happy with 10+ wins !! I am predicting one more regular season loss / a MACC win / and a bowl win when hopefully more of this team is healthy and dialed in for a change …
