O/T : Kalamazoo is considering building a 300M events center. Would include WMU hoops.

Will find the video. This is a video but not the one I wanted.

Early in this YouTube are two photos of the Kansas U. stadium. One with the track; one without.

I like it.

Agreed. I’ve never been an Ohio State fan, but I love how they eliminated their track by dropping the field and adding more seats to fill in the gap, near the field. Although way over-sized, I really like the modern Shoe.

Has it been announced when Rynearson change renderings are coming?

Good question. As soon as work begins on the turf then the field wouldn't be available for practice and a game.

My guess the spring game will have to be played in the IPF. Opposing teams can't scout, too.

I am curious what the spring schedule will be. Try to finish up before the semester ends, I'd assume.

Golf teams mainly play invitationals with multiple teams participating, there is no EMU vs CMU match for instance. The women's team does host the Shirley Spork Invitational each fall but the men's team does not compete at The Crest. Not uncommon, U-M does not play matches at their splendid course either.

I attended the game yesterday, and agree with the comments already made about the team, and I thought they were a scrappy bunch that kept the pressure on Bowling Green.
I also ran into Scott Wetherbee, and asked him about the track removal from Rynearson. He said the process will begin in june, if I remember correctly, and the new track facility will be located were the softball diamonds are now located. He added that a new football field will be installed, with green surrounding where the track was located. There will be no additional seats at this time.

I'm trying to copy this to the athletic facilities thread.

Sounds good to me!!

The spring game will be in the bubble this year and only open to season ticket holders and player’s families.

That suggests:

That work on the turf could begin next month. It seems obvious that it is reason for moving the game indoors.

It also seems that the new track will have its own timeline.

Dear Friends,
I have watched scrimmages in the bubble, and because you are ground level, with people sometimes in front of you, It isn't worth watching. Now that is just my opinion, but it is difficult to really see what develops with any given play.

Yes it's very difficult to watch a game in the bubble. Even lacrosse and soccer is there's more than 100 people are always walking in front of you.07-coffee3

And open to a VERY limited number of season ticket holders.

Sounds like it has the potential of being one of EMU’s best crowds for a football game in years. lol - kidding. Like BSU fans can talk ?

Honestly, exciting times for EMU. Can’t wait to see renderings of Rynearson!

RE: EMU Athletic Facilities
I would like to add that I was told the sports bubble will be replaced this year as well. It has nearly reached the of it expected use. I don't know how it will cost. Another this about baseball. I was told that this year the fencing will be replaced per new NCAA rules about safety. They are to be padded to prevent collision injuries.
