RE: I have an unorthodox idea for how to save college football.
To be completely transparent - I don't much care about saving college football. I just want to save the Tigers and there is a reasonably rational way to do it. Once the Power split is complete we contact Alabama - or maybe Oklahoma. And...we offer to be their farm team. Instead of 80 or so four and five Stars they can recruit a couple of hundred and send the entire bottom half of those to us. We agree to sculpt our program as a mirror image of theirs and even hire the coaches they want us to. With the new transfer rules it should be easy for the Alabama's of the world to stock pile players and then - when in need - just let us know who is transferring in and out. If we can't become Alabama's or Oklahoma's farm team we keep looking for a high profile Power University. Seems reasonable.

So the Auburn model then?

Maybe change our name to Memphis Crimson Rip Current. I dunno. Whatever it takes.

Note: Facetious - "Treating serious issues with deliberate inappropriate humor."
