The more I see things like this the more evident it becomes to me that the Tigers aren't in the P5 not because of poor facilities, but for lack of fan support.

Lack of fan support as compared to who? Over the past few conference expansions from Rutgers to Houston - please expound.

Many of the current P5 are 'in' because they were fortunate enough to be Charter Members of their conferences. Was Memphis ever offered and turned down any such P5 membership?

Did Memphis leadership pile up decades of poor decisions regarding the football program that has led to the current situation?

The fan base is what it is because the leadership made bad decision after bad decision. Stop blaming the customer.

Take away their history and then give the Alabama fan base the Memphis football schedule and results from 1980 to 2012 and see what you have left.

You guys are barking up the wrong tree. You can't narrow it down and say that there haven't been investments in sports facilities. Leadership has done a horrible job of convincing anyone to donate. It is also insane that enrollment has barely increased in at least the last 25 years.

In 2014 Houston had an endowment of $574 million. They are now at $1.3 billion. Cincinnati had an endowment of $875 million. They are now at $1.7 billion We had an endowment of $218 million. We are now at $221 million. The number is misleading. We were so far behind and still are, and have been spending a lot of the money in the last few years, instead of accumulating it as an endowment.
