Utah is the only one of the group that will be formidable immediately. But all 4 of the corner schools are extremely dependent on California recruits, which is going to suffer if they no longer play in California..Sure, they will get a foot in Texas and Florida, but about 50 other FBS schools are already fighting for recruits in those states..

Bottomline, adding Pac 12 schools without adding a California school for recruiting purposes isn't going to help the on field product..

The on the field product is secondary. "We are open for business." This move improves our market reach and drives value for the tv negotiations. That's it.

If the PAC schools struggle on the field its because the Big12 core was stronger. The same argument would be used if Cincy, UCF, Houston, and BYU come in and struggle.

Its more about the Phoenix and Denver markets than the ASU/Arizona/Colorado on-field competitiveness.

Its the Power 2, SEC and Big 10. There is still a fight as to who the 3rd best conference is going to be. However, Big12 is working hard to secure themselves the 3rd highest paid media deal.

I still see this ending with WasSU and OrSU landing in the Mountain West.

Possibly—-but as both are better than the bottom of the MW—wouldn’t it make more sense for the top of the MW to reconstitute in the Pac12 shell? The resulting conference would cut the MW dead weight, maintain superior top to bottom quality, and would reform under the most marketable brand name (Pac12). Maybe something like—

WSU
OSU
Boise
SDSU
Fresno
Air Force
SMU
Wyoming
2 of Utah St, Rice, UTSA, N Texas, UNLV. Nevada. Wyoming, New Mexico. Utah St.

Washington State and Oregon State will be following shortly behind. Washington and Oregon off to the Big10.

Call me when some national media pundit starts talking imminent moves.
It's some guy that posts nothing but clickbait and pretends to be like Barstool with reps for each school and conference. Any attention, even if it's calling him an idiot, is giving him more than he deserves.

Only if the league is disbanded through a vote. If not, the top of the MWC will be heading to the PNW as a reconstituted PAC 10/12.

If USC/UCLA go B1G, and the Four Corners go XII, and Cali/Stan and UWUO go ACC, they won't leave the BB credits behind for Wassu/OrSU. They'll vote to dissolve and divest the assets amongst the parties.

once they announce their intention to leave, they lose their vote on conference matters

3-4 of corners leave, remaining 6-7 vote for dissolution, Big 10 invites 4 more (Stanford, Cal, Oregon, UW)?

That's just a matter of which press release they hit "send" on first:

- X calls for vote on dissolution
- X accept offer from Y Conference

The Big10 doesn’t care what the 4 corners do. If the B10 wanted any other Pac12 schools—-they would take them. The Big12 and the ACC are the only options right now for schools that do not have 100 million in media value.

Well, the day is almost done and there's been no announcement for the 4 corners asking for Big 12 admission, so it was likely just more bs..

Sidelines sports even tweeted out the leak might have been designed to get Oregon and Washington to back off on unequal revenue sharing..
