The mark, designed by Troika Media Group, features a shield shape that embodies the immense pride of our member institutions, student-athletes, fans and the overall region. The three stars represent a trio of the league’s key values: unity, resiliency and courage.

Is this the rebrand the Troika Media Group promised? Or is there more to come?

My assumption is that there is more to come. Some news articles noted that Lamar will be keeping the WAC logos on the athletic fields and courts this season because it didn't make sense to immediately change to SLC branding in light of the upcoming rebranding. If I recall correctly, part of the rebrand will include a new name for the conference. The 60 year logo may be more of a bookend to the "Southland" name with something new on the way.

Rather than playing with WAC logos on the fields and courts, wouldn't it make more sense to simply remove them and play with no logos until the new conference name and logo are announced? What is UIW going to do? They never officially left the Southland. It seems to me that if the Southland logo is not used, then no logo would be the next best choice.
