RE: WAC Preseason Coaches Poll
Predicting ACU is really hard. We might be very good since we have a new offensive coach who had the most yardage in college football last year, even though not in FCS or FBS. We have a very well known new head coach from Texas Tech. We have a really well recognized bunch of transfers with lots of stars from high school and many from G5 schools, but we don't know how long it will take for all this to jell. If it comes together quickly, the Wildcats could be pretty strong. My unknown thickness limb I've crawled out upon says we go 8 and 3.

Saw it in person. And spent 20 minutes in an elevator at the Fredonia Hotel between the second and third floor. But I digress.

Saw Coach Carthal at the Fredonia Brewery but again I digress.

SFA was better than us and Coach Whitten said so at the WAC Media Day, as his mic was working so we heard him say it.

I saw in person the previous year when we beat SFA with a 99 yard TD run by Daniel McCants. Didn’t get stuck in an elevator and didn’t see Coach Carthal at the brewery.

I so hope I’m wrong and we beat them this year.

Go Texans!!!

Of course he did. Ever the gentleman, Whitten would NEVER dare say his alma mater got away with one. Just like he wouldn't run up the score in the previous beatdown you speak of.

Think he also said, "I like our chances" at this year's media day, which in super-nice-guy speak translates to "this team is fugging loaded"

Two words of advice: Cabana Rooms. Best way to stay at the ol' Fredonia. No elevators, poolside, right next to 9 Flags! 04-cheers

I think this power ranking is a little early and think they are wrong between SUU & Tarleton. I think #59 is about right for us and #81 is ok for UT for now. I hate putting numbers to others yet, but would put Tarleton around #68 and SUU around #78. Like I said earlier, I think SUU needs to mature more. I think Tarleton needs to prove consistency. I could have us grouped a little too tightly though.

Unless they have brought in more talent 6-5 is the best I can see. Tarleton usually comes out of the gate strong. I believe transition has taken us back a step or two. Hope I’m wrong.

I do believe we can beat SFA if they get as fired up as a couple of years ago. We shall see.

Has anyone seen an announcement about the criteria that will be used to determine which team will receive the WAC/ASUN alliance?

And there you have it folks, the mini aggies of Las Excuses, NM..No amount of and's, if's, or but's changes the fact that an FBS team caught a thorough beatdown by a D2 program's 2nd and 3rd stringers. Just sad. I almost feel bad bringing it up.

So you provide a ton of if's and but's of why you didn't "dominate" SFA and that's acceptable. But no one else can make excuses. For the record, I didn't make excuses. I simply paraphrased your post to show how ridiculous it is (all your posts are ridiculous).

And now the junior aggies are all of a sudden D2, yet you are calling them "D1" in all your other posts. Got it. 07-coffee3

It's best to listen to him. Texas A&M Stephenville runs this conference.

RE: WAC Preseason Coaches Poll
Sorry Oscar, I am stealing your breakdown. It is hard to look at these new recruits and transfers and not see us as being competitive. How much they come together quickly and move us forward is what most of us are waiting on. I wish that I could see some Fall practice and get a better feel. Over-all we have improved our depth at pretty much every position. We have added weight on the OL and height/speed at WR. We have stepped up our secondary as well. These were all areas that needed help. Our QB competition is better than it has been in years. Still, there is a lot of newness that the team and coaches are all dealing with, together with the fans. We need to dominate Lamar again for me to feel good in the first game. We need to play competitively against Mizzou before I can begin to feel like we have moved forward any.

A breakdown of our incoming class of scholarship players -

DL-3
LB-4
DB-7 (14 defense)
RB- 3
WR-6
TE-2
OL-6
QB-2 (19 offense)
K-1 (1)

HS-10
JUCO-5
FBS-19
