You can still play 4pm and 8 pm Eastern games from the PAcific and Mountain Time zones. You just have to kick off at 1pm Pacific or 2pm Mountain, 5 pm PAcific or 6 pm Mountain. (I know, Arizona is way too hot to play at those times in September. But that just means road games, doesn't really matter where.)

didn't they have a Big Noon gm in CA last year w/ 2 of the Pac 12 schools.

Oregon @ Ohio State was a Big Noon game, 9:00 a.m. Pacific. 9/11
(I guessed Oregon first, because I thought that's who Fox is likeliest to pick)
Stanford vs Kansas State @ JerryWorld 9/4 Big Noon
I thought they had one where like USC or UCLA hosted.

Nothing on wikipedia. I think we're thinking of Fox making PAC-12 teams play at noon eastern on the road, and figuring the next step is 9:00 a.m. home games.

I was referring to pac12 conference games in the central time zone and how many of these games make it to linear programming within the central time zone viewing window. Especially now that espn has locked in the SEC for those valuable slot and Fox going all in with BIG

Point well taken , they can schedule accordingly.

I found it. I was off by a yr. I remember waking up and seeing Pac 12 gm at 9 am saying wtf? what time is it? from si.com...
"The 2020 Pac-12 season will open with a 9 a.m. game between USC and Arizona State on Nov. 7, signaling the start of the conference’s grand East Coast exposure experiment.

That game between the top South Division contenders will be televised nationally by Fox, and presumably will one of several Pac-12 games that start at 9 a.m., although starting times have not been set for subsequent weekends."

Note that Arizona doesn't observe DST, so they are on Pacific Time through the first weekend in November.

Related note, Arizona and California will be on the same time in perpetuity beginning next March. Effectively, Arizona will be on PDT from then on.
