The world games is just a bunch of weird things that didn't make the Olympics.

With that said I have a soft spot for Birmingham. It's a great time and much more enjoyable than some of the other "metros" in the AAC (both 1.0 and 2.0).

I get what you are saying about the events, but it is a big deal. Birmingham has solidified itself as the “best of the rest” city. It is a flat out sports mecca and dominates the rest of the cities with less than 2 major franchises. It has the reigning USFL champion, a G league team, a AA baseball team, minor league soccer and hockey. Hosted the World Games and entire USFL this year. Will continue to host a bowl game, SEC baseball tournament, NCAA basketball tournament games, and is the home of SEC headquarters. Also the number 1 college football market.

And of course it is now home to an AAC program.

No, it's a bunch of new sports auditioning for a spot in the Olympics. Some of them are very cool.

It is quite nice. The entire city seems to be on the up and up.

They are missing one thing Huntsville has however....

Not here to start fights but I'd definitely rather be in Birmingham than some cities. Luckily the other ones had the space center or an extremely large bass pro shops to make up for it. Some are beyond saving *cough* Orlando *cough*.
