RE: Basketball priority deadline 7/15
well I'm a victim of reseating. My old seats and the ones around us are all taken. Our former seat neighbors had to relocate too. Hope these people actually show up!

Yeah it's getting close to where I think I can pretty much stop hoping for an upgrade and start hoping not to downgrade, or not much. We gave our donation a solid bump this year too. On the bright side that's obviously a good sign for the Duke Club and for people wanting basketball tickets, but like you said I hope they actually show up.

RE: Basketball priority deadline 7/15
It looked like about 200 seats or so were already selected when reseating started, unfortunately my seats were 6 of them. This is the 2nd reseating in hoops where I lost center court, row A seats and my DC rank has been in the top 10% for years. The last time it happened, no one sat in our old seats until home game #9. So I understand when you guys say you hope someone sits in them. Then again, that was during the "Rowe era."
By comparison, I've had the exact same football seats since 2014 or 2015.

Well, upgraded in my opinion and downgraded in my mom's opinion lol. Was gonna go with our same seats, which is what she preferred over our new, but they went 8 minutes before our appointment! Closer to the floor now, but in 106 instead of 107 so across from the visiting bench instead of midcourt.
Curious to see what we end up with in women's tickets next week. Best of luck to all of you, can't wait for November(but first September)!

I'm picking four seats in the upper deck tomorrow. Are there any sections to avoid!
Thanks!

This is one of the many things that irritates me about the reseating process. I wish there was some way to negatively impact those who buy season tickets yet never/rarely show up to a game. Make them give up those seats the next year and get whatever is left? Lose so many spots in the next reseating process? I have lost out on a good seat more than once because it got snapped up by someone ahead of me in the process. I can live with getting beat out by someone who will attend the games, but to see a former seat empty one game after another after another is annoying.
And I have no intention/desire to make any Duke Club contribution to improve my chances, so please don't suggest I do that. And as some have already posted, those with very healthy contribution levels have been screwed over the years.

i still wound up with good seats... just not my old seats. I think I landed a solid parking spot too. KITS I almost went closer to the visitors since an aisle was available but opted for the home side in the middle.

Anyone know if there is any issue with sitting in a first row in the upper deck? Does the railing create any site issues?

Nice. I'm very happy with my parking spot, it's the one I had my eye on from the start. Only one person beside me and should be extremely easy in and out without needing to hope someone lets me out.
jgonz unfortunately I have no idea, I've never gone up to the upper level although I should sometime to see what it's like. I would sure hope JMU wouldn't build a brand new arena where front row seats have their view blocked by a rail though.

RE: Basketball priority deadline 7/15
I have wandered up to the upper level at a WBB game or two and from what I recall the view from the front row seats is good. Railing should not be an issue unless you are very short while sitting down (like my wife who is 4'-10"). I am 5"-8" and had no issues looking over the rail while sitting in one of the front row seats from what I recall. Your mileage may vary however!!

Thanks for the responses. My wife is 5 foot tall and was a bit concerned it would be an issue for her. Hopefully it will be fine.

RE: Basketball priority deadline 7/15
Yeah when it was looking like 106 row A might make it to our appointment we were really kicking ourselves for never going and sitting in the front row to see for sure whether that could be an issue or not. I'm 6'1" so no problem for me I'm sure and two of our other seats are always at least like 5'8"... But my mom is 5'3" so she was a little worried about it. Ended up that it wasn't an option for us anyway though.

RE: Basketball priority deadline 7/15
Will say that the sightlines in the upper bowl are very good except for a few areas like all the way up in back of each basket. Hard to see the basket close in from up there but all the other seats seem good. The designers did an excellent job on the seating angles etc in the upper bowl. As Dukes fans we should all be very proud of how nice the AUBC is. Some of the other arenas the wife and I have gone to for WBB road games are really not up to Div 1 standards. Some are similar to high school gyms.

RE: Basketball priority deadline 7/15
Just got my WBB seat. Last year's seat was taken but I was able to move down a row and still stay with my friends. I had to call because of the not-so-great internet at the hotel I am staying in, and Sumpter was AMAZING. She probably completed my transaction quicker than I would have done myself and was so gracious while she was helping me. If any of you have to call I hope you get her excellent customer service.
Glad to have that over with....now to enjoy the rest of my vacation!!

I also had to move a row down but no big deal. Now we need the WBB OOC schedule so we can see what the whole season is going to look like. Know we have a game at W&M and a home game vs Maine but that is it so far.

I'm glad so many people like to sit up higher, for both men's and women's I was surprised to see so many high lower level seats going while the front two or three rows were still available. I like to be as close to the court as possible, we ended up 106 row B in men's and 115 row B in women's.
