What's the best way to get tickets in a Rice-fan section for the football game @USC (Sept. 3). Is the team hotel known yet? Is there a Rice price for it?

Any Rice-related events planned for before/after the game?

The MOB would also like a local with knowledge of the area to help us choose a hotel for our trip to the game.

I live in the South Bay (Redondo Beach) - so I'm not the closest to SC, but reasonably nearby, especially for locations south and west.

Not accommodations related, but ESPN’s top 2 incoming transfers/incoming freshmen are USC Trojans, QB Caleb Williams from OU and WR Jordan Addison from Pitt.

The alumni office seats are in the 201’s, which based on my cursory look at stadium sighting, appear to have slightly better (less bad) visuals than the field level 102 seats from the Athletic dept. Both sections are “visiting team” regardless of whether we are Rice or Notre Dame. 102 is closer to the actual field but since the sections are so far in the corner, I think the 201s might be better

There is a great game day around USC Football game and people gather around the hotels close to the coliseum with big parties that are really welcoming to visitors. I'm pretty sure that the Athletic Department has booked some of these for the team, but you should check out the USC Hotel and The Park Motel (don't let them name fool you) as the have one the best pregames. I have always felt safe at these events in spite of what you may have heard. I am pretty sure that the Holiday Lodge has been booked by the big money donors/Athletic Admin elites, but if you are interested in budget accommodations like a lot of Rice fans I'd suggest checking out the Boutique Hostel. All of these are walkable to the game.

There are not many hotels very close to USC or the Coliseum. I am staying at an LAX hotel and may just take the metro bus/trains around. Downtown is not too far away from USC but have never thought of downtown as a tourist place. Maybe weekend rates are decent there.
