2023 Football Recruiting
Took a at look at how your 2023 class is coming together on Hogville, so though I would share. You need at least a post a year here.

Looks like A-State recruiting is off to a decent start, but after finishing with the top class according to 247 last year, really can't tell much about where this years class is trending because most commits to SBC teams, or G5's for that matter, don't have ratings.

here is the latest SBC rankings according to 247: https://247sports.com/Season/2023-Footba...erence=SBC

Pretty sure the NIL, or more accurately the abuse of the NIL, is a factor at the G5 level just like the P5, but probably not much. There are only so many players everyone agrees are sure things (4/5 Star types) , and they normally did not sign with G5's out of HS, even before the pay-for-play that came with the NIL.

That leaves a pool of about 2500 3-star athletes that comprise bulk of the recruits at most P5, and all G5's, and the NIL is less of a factor in their recruiting.

Not saying the NIL is not a factor at the G5 level, because some G5's are in areas where their are more NIL opportunities, and I'm sure they are using it to their advantage. Just hard to tell when most G5 commits are lacking ratings.

Do think the NIL, even without the abuse, will make it very difficult, if not impossible for Butch Jones to put together a top 30 class.
