I don't understand why all the pundits are discounting CBS and NBC. Do they know that CBS and NBC are unwilling to spend more for TV contracts?

A source recently told Ike that Virginia will be the first ACC team to leave and join the BIG
The source believes UNC will follow. Miami and Clemson will also leave
The ACC will add West Virginia, Cincinnati, Memphis, ECU and possibly SFU and Tulane

Yep. But I do believe Virginia and North Carolina must be being eyed by both Big and the SEC. They represent populous, desirable states that don’t currently have members in either conference and yet border them. Academically strong and would be a coup for Big; you think the SEC wants to allow the two remaining southern states lacking an SEC team to “go North”? I don’t. I can’t see either team staying out if given a chance to move. Would they opt for the Big? I know nothing, I’ll admit, but I see a greater possibility that the mighty SEC manages another major shock to pull in Clemson, FSU, and those two grand dame Southern programs in VA and NC—IF the money numbers add up. It’s all about money, yet I can’t shake the idea that the Good Ole Boys still don’t take carpetbaggers kindly.

The P5 will ultimately consolidate conferences, merge or reorganize not add additional G5 schools not named ND. At this point there are no G5 schools that have enough value to sustain conferences' value that lose members to the SEC & B1G. Efforts will continue by the B12 & PAC to poach each other's members & by '36 the ACC will be vulnerable to the same. But for the G5, absent some phenomenal achievements & growth, they are & will be what they are now. Obviously, JMO.

Ike has once again been asked to Lay Low by two sources. Last week at the Peabody many options were discussed including Ike’s visit to Norman Oklahoma. More dominos will fall, Virginia to the BIG followed by unc. Clemson and Miami to the sec and Ike has recently learned FSU. The ACC will have to replace and ECU will be a member, North Carolina needs the four state schools and ECU has made it a point to play ACC schools whenever possible. BTW it may be a choice between FSU and Miami in the sec possibly both but probably only one. Ike may have miss spoke when he said both. TIGERS ACC

If the P5 reorganizes and the B12, P12 and ACC lose their cash cow programs, few of the programs left in those conferences will be worth much more to a TV contract than we are, and some will be worth less. Today we are not a net positive to those conferences’ per-school revenues but perhaps could be if more sorting occurs.

Agreed. But the net result will be that even if we become a member of a current P5 conference, it's make up will look about like the AAC now with UH, UCF & Cincy type strength with all of the P-level value gone . And even such a move as that is unlikely.

This is true. There are a lot of legacy welfare charter members of the P5 conferences that may end up getting a bucket of ice cold reality thrown in their faces within the next decade.

I think you are right but maintaining ground is preferable to losing ground. If Memphis cannot be in a Tier 2 conference then what is the point?
