It's all good Memphis Yankee. We'll continue to play. Look forward to the Tigers coming to town on October 15th. It's a good brand of football to be enjoyed!

Same here. I didn't know if anybody else had noticed that with some people.

Also, "I could care less". If you can care less, it means you do actually care about it at some level. Should be "I couldn't care less".

The few who boycott the Power 5 will just be aggregated into cord cutter numbers.

There is no way to delineate between boycotters and cord cutting.

This group/movement isn't just for those who've been blocked by the power 5 cartel. If you are a fan of a team who's in a "power" league, look no further than the ACC and Pac12. Once the takers, now they are being taken and have become beggars.
The old BigEast, once the takers, now doesn't even exist. Conference realignment only benefits the TV companies and a few top schools. It will not stop until the most powerful Universities have joined forces to form a new system that will block the likes of schools like Ole Miss & Missouri.

We'll look up and schools like South Carolina and Oklahoma State will be left out. If you think your school is safe because they are currently in one of the "Power" Leagues....just look at how quickly UCLA, USC, Texas an Oklahoma jumped ship when they found a way to not have to split their money with bottom feeders in their leagues.

Top SEC & B1G schools will soon do the same. If we don't stop this now, not even the SEC and B1G will be able to escape the changes that are headed for college sports when the likes of ESPN, CBS & Foxsports are done.

We can make a difference just like soccer fans in Europe did. Step up and make your voice heard. Boycott Power Conference games on TV. Don't attend their games. Even if your team is in a Power league. If you don't want to see the likes of USC, Ohio State, Alabama & Notre Dame controlling all of college football and TV rights, it's time to make your voice heard.

From the article: “College football going away from being a fiercely regional sport will eventually kill all that is fun and different about it. The path to becoming NFL Lite is paved with gold for TV execs, the coffers of major athletic departments and the various other power brokers in college sports who do not care what they break in their quest for one more dollar.

The fans of college football get nothing out of this. We don’t see a single dollar, in fact we’ll end up paying MORE money to follow the sport we love. Road trips to see your team cost more, tickets cost more, your cable bill goes up because the networks airing the games can charge the cable company more for their product and so on until you just can’t take it anymore and stop caring.”

Unless a B1G or SEC team is playing my guys, I wouldn't watch them anyway. For me to boycott them would be meaningless.

(07-14-2022 04:13 PM)Bull Wrote:  People can ridicule this all day, but the fact is more and more fans are getting fed up with what is happening to CFB... with the top 2 conferences essentially becoming a minor pro league. People want this to be about Saturday afternoons, representation of a SCHOOL, alumni, bands, cheerleaders, tailgating, etc. They don't want such ridiculous greed based reorganization, arbitrarily excluding obviously 'worthy' programs from access to the playoff, top competition, etc. There are just too many FBS schools for this to work.

Maybe this effort won't result in any substantial changes... but you are seeing the embryo of getting the message out. There are a lot more schools NOT in the P2, then there are IN the P2.

I am with you, except if the playoff changes still include all w/o that committee and there is no increase in scholarships. That scholarship increase would be a death sentence.
