Is it going to be more difficult to poach the ACC
Someone getting say Clemson may be more difficult with the long term ACC GOR. How does this change everything going forward. The whole of college football is on edge, its not just us. The sudden emergence of a P2 has everyone currently not on board very nervous. ACC GOR

It won’t. Clemson isn’t waiting 14 years to get out of a contract. By then the college world will have passed them by for good or bad. Same with the other schools lock in contracts

Probably, but for the ACC schools wanting to leave its going to be crazy expensive.

Because everyone honors contracts

I agree. Stupid one sided contracts never hold up in court. An ambulance chaser lawyer can weasel you out of that.

If Notre Dame wants out to go to the Big 10, they will. that will set president for everyone else.
AAC is toast. Memphis will end up in the watered down ACC or possibly the watered down Pac. Ideal landing spot is the B12. They'll most likely be at 18 wanting to go to 20. That leaves two spots open. Maybe us and USF for the last two spots. Maybe Boise over USF. Boise won't want to go to the pac/mwc merger. Usf has the bigger market though, and UCF gets a travel partner.

I'm leaning toward watered down ACC. Not as a preference, but as likely the best chance to move up from AAC. Right now I think the B1G takes more from the PAC 12 and then they and the SEC battle for the best of the ACC. Some if not all of the remaining teams from the PAC 12 end up joining with the Big 12 and the rest of the ACC looks to backfill.

This sounds a bit more plausible. We can all but forget a big 12 invite. Already passed on Memphis twice and have their sites set on the AZ schools, Utah and Colorado. State universities, current P5s so yeah Memphis isn’t getting an invite over any of them. As for the ACC, who would be left?
Louisville - would the Big 12 go after them to get to 18-20 schools?
Pitt- same ? as Louisville. UL, Pitt Cincy WV make a nice little travel pod
Wake -
BC-
Syracuse- meh
NC State - maybe
VT - maybe
Duke - their FB is atrocious, but would the b12 make a play for them to get that bball program in an already stacked league?
Not many good options left for us. However we may have the nicest renovated stadium in all of G5/division 2 football. Those 14,000 in the stands will look great

Somehow, I think UCF & UC end up in the ACC with WVU… it just makes sense geographically & for any semblance of rivalry. That “trade” allows the Big 12 to better merge with the remaining Pac 10. I think we’ll be fighting with USF for a spot in the revamped ACC.

It'll be just like joining the Big East only this time it'll disintegrate before the invite not after....

Perhaps they knew what was coming. If the Big12 wants to move forward (adding teams from the PAC or whatever), maybe Texas and Oklahoma can still cause enough headaches that would enable an early exit. I may be wrong, but I’ve never thought they’d actually stick around until 2025.

And even then it's likely a best case scenario, because it's possible that some of those teams get picked up by someone.
