That is not P5 ready!

I find it amusing how quickly some of the fans of schools that used to complain about those in P5 conferences look down at their schools, quickly become the same as those they criticized.

Yep some of them, not all, definitely turning into snobs rather quickly.

We would rather you come to us.

ECU is not joining a conference built on “comprehensive/R3” schools with small endowments, limited research footprints and small student bodies and stadiums. Not a knock on Sun Belt schools (Appy has excellent academics and UL is R1), but most SB schools serve a different public mission and ECU isn’t stepping back back 40 years. More likely the AAC grabs ODU and Georgia State U, which is my preference. Also have a soft for our old comrades in Hattiesburg, and intrigued by TSU because of size and drive, and maybe JMU because of proximity and ptential.

The Sun Belt has 4 R1 and 6 R2 universities. East Carolina is an R2 university and would be middle of the pack academically in the Sun Belt. Your schools website even has two Sun Belt schools on its list of institutional peers.

Yes, indeed. We are R1 and in the process of adding a prominent medical school/EVMS. The notion that the Sun Belt is not strong academically is pure nonsense. Similar to referring to yourself in the third person.

How people become arrogant about being treated like the ugly chick who nobody wants for decades and then when all the hot ones are gone, they finally get an invite.

Lets be honest, we are all looked down upon by the bluebooods and I like it. When USF beat FSU, Miami and Notre Dame on their own fields, my god if felt amazing to see their arrogance slip out of their bodies like they had seen a ghost.
I hope USF builds up, but Ill always love that were the young underdogs that isnt respected.

We’ve definitely reached twilight zone phase of conference alignment if ecu is pushing academic smack.

Unfortunately we also had fans that acted similarly when we moved up to Big East, most of 5hose fans appear when things are going well and are silent when things are bad.
I just find it interesting that the cycle repeats itself again and again.

Yep, and here very very shortly the same mouthy ones will have a near winless season and want empathy.

Fortunately, as much as some love to mock others, I know why USF is investing nearly a half billion into their football program. We will be just fine.
