Where does ETSU basketball fit into this? Does this revise the decades old issue of an on campus basketball arena?

I can honestly say if the Bucs were to move back on campus, I'd probably stay at home and watch. For me, Freedom Hall is an easy egress.

It appears to me this is a question of how to use the new square footage.

Below is a link to the 2014 ETSU Facilities Master Plan (the most current plan on the website). See page 17 for Athletics. There is no area actually on the plan but it is listed as a "long term goal to raise funds for the facility". I would take note of the words LONG TERM and FUNDS.

As I understand Track and Field facilities are of a higher priority.

I have been following this TOO LONG. Wow - I watched the Bucs play in Brooks Gym. If I have this correct - the Mini-Dome and Freedom Hall were built and opened around the same time - the days when the city and ETSU were NOT working together. Of course, this is a new day with the city and ETSU working together with Freedom Hall, the Arts Center, er al. But, is the day gone for an on campus basketball arena over the next 25-50 years?

Normally a city and an institution would work to together to build a large event center on campus that could be used for larger entertainment and concerts events. I would hope that it will happen but it would be fought against by too many people for it to ever happen.
