GO JSU!!

I don't know anybody who's been talking about anything other than somewhere between 2-10 and 6-6 season.

Missed this one...

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have added the Kansas Jayhawks to their 2026 football schedule, a Friday announcement reported.

The game will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at David Booth Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan.

Middle Tennessee and Kansas have never squared off on the gridiron.

The contest marks the second announced game for both sides in the 2026 campaign. Each club is set to play the week before, with Kansas hosting the Missouri Tigers and Middle Tennessee playing at the former C-USA foe Marshall Thundering Herd on Sept. 12, 2026.

RE: Future Conference USA Football Schedules
Sam Houston has confirmed a game with rival Texas St in 2024 where the Bearkats will play host at NRG stadium. The rivalry has been on hiatus since 2011 when the Bobcats moved up to FBS from the FCS where they were in the Southland conference with Sam Houston. Sam Houston will dish out $500,000 to play the Bobcats as a part of their annual 1 home game a year played at NRG stadium. The rivalry dates back to 1915 where the Bobcats hold a 50-37-5 record against the Bearkats but the Bearkats have won the previous 2 meetings between the 2 teams and the last 10 matchups the teams are 5-5 against each other. This is huge for the Bearkats to renew a lost rivalry since moving on from the Battle of the Pineywoods game against SFA. This will also be a great opportunity to see a CUSA vs Sun Belt matchup on the gridiron. It is currently scheduled for September 28, 2024 and will roundout the Bearkats non-conference football schedule where they play host to Hawaii at home in Bowers, and play away at Rice and UCF.

That's a great schedule for y'all. One G5 home and two local G5s. Congrats!

The 2026 season is shaping up to be an interesting one. At Oklahoma for $1.3M and at Michigan for $1.9M. The AD wants the money so screw the team, I guess.

That’s the MTSU way. We open this year with Bama and Missouri on the road.

RE: Future Conference USA Football Schedules
Has anyone asked their AD what the plan is for the ten team schedule?

My guess (that I know I've posted before) is that everyone gets a permanent rival (or "rival" in most cases) and then we just rotate more or less randomly through who we all miss in a given year. Best two records play a CCG at the stadium of best overall record (and odds are VERY good it's a rematch).

I did a quick check some time back and it looks like MTSU is right there with ULM for most away P5 games over the last <whatever period you want to choose> years.

We've been there (the Indy days were really rough). Y'all need to talk your AD into using some of this sweet sweet October weeknight money to give you a season or two with just one money game.

I assume that’s what will happen these are going to be the pairings:

MTSU/WKU
NMSU/UTEP
KSU/JSU
SHSU/LT
Liberty/FIU (outliers and Liberty loves Florida games)

We’re hopeful that will happen but we’re in this boat at least until 2026.

I can't see any better way to do it.

The 10 team SB did divisions and the old '01-'04 WAC rotated the missed game between unofficial non-divisions (5 team groupings from whom you didn't miss a game). But neither appeals here (because the geography doesn't line up for a 5 team split in any helpful way).
