Grow up.

No kidding and no principles......

How many times have you screwed up something at work or in your life and had a chance to fall back, reassess, and move on without a perpetual penalty? It's called a second chance, and they should be allowed to have one too. I guess all these "sticker shock" fans don't believe in second chances after the original error has been addressed. They must be perfect in everything they do the first time....

Did I miss something? Did the university/Veatch/Silverspoon put out some sort of apology/recant/etc?

I always appreciate your input and perspective.
But let's think about that.
How could they possibly apologize or admit they should not have been associated with that organization, without causing a major controversy?
They did come out multiple times and say that their support was in the concept that black lives do matter, rather than support of that organization.

" A major controversy"??They had already caused one ..how do they admit being wrong ? They own up to it--they mend the fences in the community and 1/2 the fanbase -they cut their losses --thats how !!!- but they refused to say ALL LIVES MATTER or WHITE LIVES MATTER--that would have been racist huh-- ...where was that statement or those stickers

You keep saying 1/2 the fanbase. Is this officially part of your weird fantasy world or do you have any proof to back it up?

The #80 team in the country deserves to play the #60 team in the country at home in the playoff while the #12 team sits at home, because a team that clearly can't make it on its own merits, and contributes ZERO in revenues, deserves a chance because everyone deserves a trophy.

You are a socialist/communist, woke, inclusive, affirmative action zealot, who seems to think he is a conservative. That is what you stand for.

There is my STALKER--the guy who follows me around and spews lies that he knows are lies --just to incite---the guy that admitted with his post to bluebacker-- that he sold out/compromised his convictions --put his head in the sand --and tried to justify the actions of a woke university/woke coach/woke university president-------------------it mattered not to you or the university --that they alienated thousands of fans ------the coach even made a statement at the time saying something like "if people dont like the stickers then they can leave " or something close to that

Quote:the guy that admitted with his post to bluebacker-- that he sold out/compromised his convictions --put his head in the sand --and tried to justify the actions of a woke university/woke coach/woke university president

It would be asking too much at your age to ask you to learn how to read. I clearly stated my exact position on BLM, the players wanting the decals, and Rudd and Silverfield actually have virtually the exact same position that I do.

Stalker? You post about me all the time when I'm not even involved in the threads. You are the woke, socialist who thinks he is a conservative. Everything I have said about you is true, verifiable with the thousands of almost identical gibberish you post.

Good one Karl.

Again my STALKER --trying his best to get us banned--so the players got to alienate 1/2 the fanbase/the players got to pick the head coach---the inmates running the asylum----you would have thought the ADULTS in the room would have thought better of alienating half the fans

I post NOTHING/ZERO/NADA about you that is untrue-- I quote your own words ---I understand however because of how idiotic and inaccurate your posts are --that you might be embarrassed by your own track record knowing that everybody knows who I am quoting-because we all know that you bat below the Mendoza line---------but you post NOTHING/ZERO/NADA about me that is true---and you only do it to inflame and incite me and others that you do the same

Quote:so the players got to alienate 1/2 the fanbase

Still nothing to back up this fantasy. 04-drinky

Everything I've said about you is true. You DID say that a 6-6 MAC team cough...cough...deserves to host a playoff game against the #2 team in the country, because the #2 team in the country has to win all of their games or tough luck. In your bizarro world, in a 16 team playoff, the #12 team would be sitting at home, but the #80 team would be hosting a playoff game.

The pure definition of communism, Karl. Keep up the good work.

Again my STALKER

There are a handful of mentally ill people on this message board who like to rant about how much they hate the Memphis Tigers. It is sad and I guess they have nowhere else to go and no one to take care of them. Nothing you can do except shake your head at that sad situation.

And it was a knee jerk to allow it from the grown ups who should have known better, but were caught up in the moment like many were, and were fearful of what would happen if they didn't. They all came to their senses a few months later and replaced BLM.

I see no reason to continue to hold this against the university. (Unless you're really an Old Miss fan like that 1 poster is.)

Yep. That's how I took it all along. The leadership screwed up in allowing it due to the extraordinary circumstances at the time (civil unrest, global pandemic, constantly changing guidelines, etc.). "Major controversy" is not a handful of anonymous accounts on social media whining about it - at least one of whom is really an Old Miss fan ^.
"Major controversy" would be players walking out or quitting the team. ESPN targeting the program and impacting our tv games.
I was upset with it at the time. That was 2 years ago. They've removed the stickers and I've moved on. Like most rational fans (of Memphis, not Old Miss).
