Season Ticket Sales
Has anyone heard anything on how many season tickets we've sold so far?

RE: Season Ticket Sales
I haven't, but I'm glad we aren't doing season tickets for the upper deck endzones seats. I never liked Tarping seats, but I think it's the right call for this season until we year them down. I hope that's what they are doing.

Instead of tarping them I would give those seats out for free to youth football, cheerleading, soccer, band, etc. If you aren't gonna make any money off those seats anyway. Might as well make some new fans.

Would think Season Ticket sales would be the best in over a decade. Unless, the downward economy and inflation will hamper sales.

Still some COVID affects as well. Not everyone is over it.

I think all of the above is true. Less so much COVID IMHO, but you take a family of four from, say, Mingo CO or Wayne, or someplace away... That's a massive effort. I mean, my Honda FCKN CIVIC Si took $60 to fill up today! That is absolutely insane. I am blessed enough for it not to affect me that much, but I am still sensitive to how it affects others. (DO NOT START BEING POLITICAL HERE...)

Then you account for tickets and food... That's a HUGE undertaking for a lot of people.

Completely agree. $50 gave me a half a tank last Monday. As for COVID, I realized over the shut down that I didn't need sports as entertainment like I thought I did. I'll admit, I spent time with the family going on camping and hiking trips that helped me realize I'd much rather do that than sit on a couch all day watching ESPN. How many other people feel that way I don't know, but I do know it was way more enjoyable. Now actually going to a game is a different story for me, but how does that translate to a casual fan that will buy a ticket the day of the game? Will the casual fan forgo the home game for spending new found time with their family in a much cheaper way. I don't know, it was just an observation that I made over the shutdown. I was dreading all the games being cancelled and really thought it was gonna be bad, but I had more fun not being distracted by it all.

I really wonder about that too. A lot of people got out of the habit of tailgating and gameday over the past two seasons. And to be honest, Marshall football hasn't been particularly entertaining since 2014 or 2015. It's going to be tough to bring these fans back into the fold.

The renovations at the Joan, new conference, and new coach (with players that fit his schemes) will help but it's going to take winning to change things.

RE: Season Ticket Sales
Most sections have high availability. Not a great sign.

But mini season ticket packages go on sale tomorrow. Maybe with two FCS games, fans were waiting on the mini pack.

I think we will be okay. Other than the two fkn FCS home games, this is the BEST conference home slate we have had in YEARS (which includes an old bitter rabid rival). Three of the four teams visiting The Joan have been in the Top 25 in the past two years! This is good excrement people!
