Glenn Youngkin interview
Long interview on Brian Kilmeade's show Sunday night.

He gave a brief biography of himself, and they showed a couple of pictures of him playing basketball at Rice, as well as a couple of pictures of Rice. He said he couldn't have afforded to go to Rice without the basketball scholarship.

Apparently a lot of people are recruiting him to run for president, but he won't commit to that.

I think he's too new for that this time around, but he is young enough (55) to have a few legitimate shots.

Virginia doesn't allow consecutive terms for governor (wouldn't that be great for congress?), so he will have no conflicts to run.

He's at a perfect age to hold office. 80 is way too old.

People age at different rates. I know a lot of 80+ people who are quite capable. You know who is not one of them, though. I also know some who would not be capable at any age.

That's the problem with you know who. He was an idiot before he was senile.

This thread should probably be moved to the Quad. Not much sports related being discussed here.

What is the Quad?

Just reporting about a former Rice basketball player who is the governor of Virginia, and who is possibly running for president. I think that is news worthy on the Rice sports blog. Didn't mention anything about politics.

RE: Glenn Youngkin interview
I considered moving it, but as the commentary has not really turned political (in terms of 'us vs them') I didn't move it... I am more likely to suggest we 'lock' it if it turns overtly political. As long as it is simply conversation about a Rice guy, I'm okay with it staying here... and will confer with the other admins if necessary. They may see fit to move it and that is fine as well.

The Kent Roswald Memorial Quad.

You didn’t mention anything particularly political, but others were headed that way. Parliamentarians aren’t known for staying on topic, part of what I like about the Parliament. I just didn’t want another left vs right discussion on the Rice sports board. We have plenty of those going already in the Quad, some not for the faint of heart. By my count, the minds that have been changed are …. to the left, zero, and to the right, zero.
