NIU Football @ Kentucky
Interesting article on Kentucky Football and what they will be like this year: https://nypost.com/2022/06/27/kentucky-w...snt-fluke/

Our game against them on September 24th will be a good one!

Both teams should have some success running the ball. Glad we'll have 3 weeks of film on them and catch them in a bit of a trap game. They're going to be a huge challenge.

This may honestly turn into Arkansas 2014 lol but I’m still pumped to visit!

The article is interesting in that their DL line sounds like beasts but with all the accolades their QB is getting - 24TDs and 13 ints? That’s not elite is it?

Looks like their OL and secondary are vulnerable. The optimist in me says we have a strength on strength / weakness on weakness ball game.

Why couldn't we catch them on a "normal" mediocre-at-best Kentucky year?

Still think plenty of room for an upset if they are looking past us.

GO HUSKIES!

Kentucky opens with Miami of Ohio on Labor Day weekend. We are their last non conference game before they start a string of SEC games then finishing up with Louisville. It will be quite a test for our Huskies and hopefully the Wildcats are looking past us.

RE: NIU Football @ Kentucky
Im not overly worried about Kentucky. Not in terms of being blown out. I think being with-in 10 going into half. They'll have a new OC, two new OT's, new WR's and possibly a new starting RB. They lost a huge WR playmaker in Wandale Robinson. 104 catches, 1,334 yards. 43rd pick in the NFL draft. His big replacement? VT transfer Tayvion Robinson. 44 catches, 559 yards. Then no proven wrs. Bama transfer who had 7 catches and a 4th yr guy who had 12 catches. Their TE is returning from injury. They pump him up but he's a 2019 recruit who's big season was 16 catches. THEN we also have the Rodriguez debacle.

I'm not saying we will win. Just that Kentucky will be learning on the job when we play them.

I think we only have a GOOD chance to upset the Wildcats if Chris Rodreguez Jr
is suspended for our game. Latest word on the UK message boards is he will play this season but may have a one to four game suspension. He is a ton to bring down and doesn't lose yards or fumble much.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
