Ungrateful little ***
So many players would do anything to even get drafted. I don’t know what people were telling him for him to think he was a first rounder this year. Hope he grows up, puts in the work and sticks around the league for a while.

agree, seems very out of character for him based on how he was with the media while a Tiger

He could have easily played himself well into the first round with one more year. I really don’t understand his decision given his ceiling.

I don’t know how you figure that playing behind DeAndre Williams

Because there is no reason they could not be on the court at the same time. He easily would have been a 20+ minute per game this year.

RE: Josh #45 to Hornets.
The bottom line is that he needed to get paid right away, or he wasn't confident that he could develop a jump shot over the summer. If he was sure that he would learn how to shoot from outside, he could have stayed and been a guaranteed 1st round pick. The Hornets used a throw away, nothing to lose pick on him hoping that he does. If he doesn't, he will fall in line with the millions of players not picked in the first round that never made it. IF he does, he will be a steal. He can do almost everything else and he will figure out where to be on defense.

Seems like a worthwhile gamble for both sides.

Yeah, same for me. It must have been readable for a while, since others commented on what it said. Now it's reduced to a small blank box....

He was evidently asked about sliding to the second round. Paraphrasing, "I'm angry. I don't know what to say. I'm coming to kill everyone in the league." He did not look happy.

makes me wonder if Penny hinted at it being best for him to transfer/declare for the draft? Minott made it clear if he returned to college it wouldn't be at Memphis. Maybe that option was no longer available?

Liked Josh but i just don't see him having an NBA career unless/until he develops a reliable perimeter shot & learns to play defense. That's a lot to expect with so many guys ahead of him.

This surely is a win for Penny (in terms of recruiting), right? Took Minott to NBA after 1 year, after being 3or4-star recruit.

If you followed Josh, many recruiters had him on their list prior to the season as he did really well for the Pro-Day Penny held preseason. While it looks good on draft day having him out of Memphis, those that follow the program know he made his mark before Penny really got into the mix with him.

I believe he was on 1-2 mock drafts last summer - primarily Givony was the writer promoting Minott. He was left off more mock than those in which he was included. Make no mistake, this helps Penny and Memphis.

Kennedy Chandler tho. What about that fall? He was universally a top 15 before the season last year. Not a good look for ole Rick.

If Josh had returned, Deandre likely would not. They play the same position. Neither can guard the wing, and neither would be happy playing the 5 for extended periods.

If it's either-or, I'm glad we have Deandre back.
