Bet many (most?) UT fans would trade it for a win over Kansas in football

B12: 1*
PAC: 2
B1G: 2
SEC: 3**
ACC: 2***
*soon to be 0
**soon to be 4
***was deciding on doing 1.5 and 0.5 for IND but decided to just drop ND here since most sports are ACC

RE: Congratulations to Texas....again!
Posted this on the CWS thread-it was a great year for Texas. Note that Texas has won it two years in a row after Stanford had won 25 years in a row.
4 national titles-men's golf, men's indoor track, women's tennis, women's rowing
6 runnerups-men's track, men's swimming, women's track, women's swimming, softball, women's indoor track
3 elite 8s-baseball, women's volleyball, women's basketball
1 sweet 16-men's tennis
13th-women's golf
14th-men's cross country
2 round of 32-men's basketball, women's soccer.
The black sheep of the department were women's cross-country-3rd in the South Central regional-didn't qualify for nationals and a men's sport whose name shall not be mentioned.

There is no shame in losing to Kansas who was the national champion.

Kansas football, on the other hand, wasn't anywhere near national champion, unless it was the national champion of making other football teams look good, except for one team...

Not surprising given their revenue. Return on revenue not so good

Half your sports 1st or 2nd in the nation? That's a pretty good return on investment.

UCLA is not a school to talk to others about not reaching their program's potential.
And Texas has been to the title game in football twice since 2005. Only a handful have done better-Alabama, Ohio St., Clemson, LSU. Florida, Auburn, Oregon and UGA have appeared twice also.

I cannot argue with that. The underperforming Bruins have been an embarassment in football for the past two decades. They have won four of their last five games against Texas (1997-2014). But Texas has won a national championship in this century and they are the definition of "Sleeping Giant." I think they are beginning to wake up. They have too much money and too much football talent in Texas to not eventually find their way back to the top. Sark is loading up on the offensive side of the ball. Just got to keep him sober.

This last decade was our worst since the 1930s, but Texas had the best record and the most points in the final AP poll in the 2000-2009 decade.
