MIstake=I posted this thinking of their football games... Sorry. Don't know about their basketball games. I do know I enjoyed seeing some Texas basketball games last year in old Gregory Gym. That brought back some memories.

TCU has one of the best pre-game party areas and Bar-B-Que line-ups. People bid and buy spaces then build up very impressive spaces with giant TVs and just about every thing you might want. It may be easier to watch the game from the party areas than the stadium seating. I agree the Tech fans are the wildest, and they put their logo on everything.

I won't comment on IU being higher than Purdue, but Minnesota being that high is an absolute joke.

Can’t believe UTA isn’t on the list. These writers obviously haven’t been to the College Park Center when 1,777 pack it for UALR.

Clearly the last time they visited UNM was when that logo was last used more than a decade ago.

I saw it when oklahoma came in and it was packed and the game went down to the last couple of shots. I also saw it when we obliterated Akron during an NIT home game. it was like the Globetrotters vs the Washington Generals or whoever their patsy team was. with all the graphics and mini blimps flying around and an excited crowd, it was pretty cool. as for the commuter school label I would double check that as I think the school has one of the largest enrollments of foreign students in the area. around 5,000 or so. 1777 is probably about as many folks in the metro area that are willing to leave home and drive across town to see a match-up with UALR.

He doesn’t like the fact that I said College Park Center was the best collegiate arena in Texas when it opened, was part of the impetus for UT-Austin’s new arena and that Baylor took a page out of UTA’s book when they made their arena 7,000 (just like CPC’s).

The irony is I said nothing about UTA’s attendance in comparison with anyone else but our peers.

But, when you have Key Arena off-campus or a junior high gym on-campus, it’s easy to get arena-envy and throw bombs on a message board to compensate.

Key Arena is no more. the billion dollar Climate Pledge arena is what it is called now and it's a fantastic place to watch basketball and hockey. Only issue is that SU won't use the arena for games vs NMSU and GCU. They will put those games in their 999 seat gym and host schools that don't draw well at CPA. Its a real shame.

I don't speak for their decisions, but I can understand feeling a need to have the loudest crowd possible. A thousand people in the spacious City or county owned facility will not have near the noise level as in the small gym. It appears to be a tradeoff between proving you need a larger permanent facility by getting maybe a 50% larger attendance and controlling the atmosphere. Not a comparison but look at the size of Duke's Cameron Arena.
