Louisville's coach is former App State QB, Offensive Coordinator, and Head Coach Scott Satterfield. They aren't going to overlook anyone. He's been the delivering end of these games for long enough to know better.

I heard Louisville’s head coach was pretty much an idiot and he doesn’t even have experience as a head coach before this year.

I know you’re joking but that’s the sentiment in Louisville from fans. He’s not been popular after his first year

Yeah I was anticipating the condescending mouth-breathers to excitedly share with us that Satterwhite was from App. A little preemptive trolling.

No love lost for Satterfield. He is an App guy and I appreciate what he did moving us to FBS, but the way he left doesn’t sit well. He interviewed for the South Carolina job and that didn’t sit well with the Louisville faithful and understandably so.

Yup most coaches are ladder climbers. Loyalty is rare.

I’d be happy with 5 wins. Tough first year schedule. I am excited that we get to start off with a home game and that it is a 6 o’clock kickoff. Atmosphere and anticipation wise, I am guessing it will be an all time top 3 home game event in our football history.

Agree. Loyalty aside, there is a right way to do things.

That train left the station for college FB coaches when the early signing period happened.

I’ve actually just moved to Philadelphia this month for my next stage of schooling but hopefully I will be attending the game still. I’d be happy to answer any questions or give recommendations for Louisville though. I lived there these past 5 years and went to the University of Louisville

Little known fact:
JMU and Louisville have roughly the same total enrollment (we have a larger undergrad). We have a larger campus too.
At least once during the game though, some idiot announcer will make a reference to us being a small school.

Probably, though I think this will change a few years from now. It's part of the stigma of FCS, where it's presumed those schools (or at least their football programs) are small, because about 90% of them are.

We were one of the few big fish, but got grouped with the small ones in many people's minds. I vividly remember bar settings where people watching us on television remarked about how we were a pretty good D2 school that should move up.

Being a FBS school, particularly if successful, will help shift the perception. We are finally in a group of peers.

My wife has to work that weekend. I told her in the spring she should work on trying to get switched with somebody. She'll make it to the game, but guaranteed she'll get FOMO the week before the game about missing tailgating and wish she had gotten out of it.

I’ll be at that game. Historic first fbs team in bridgeforth. Night game. What’s not to love?

Wasn't sure of thread to put this in, but here's predicted list of 15 worst football programs. 2 of them are back-to-back Sunbelt opponents for us, Texas State & Arkansas State.
