Watching the Stanford super-regional
What a beautiful grass field stadium! How did they get all those great players with a grass field????

As a sidenote, they mentioned that with all the great teams Stanford has had lately, their last time to host a super-regional was in 2003.

RE: Watching the Stanford super-regional
Stanford just got ripped off on a bad call. Bases loaded, one out, and the batter hit a ground ball down the third base line. The third base umpire was not in the best position to call it, and he called it foul. They reviewed it, and it showed chalk flying up past the bag. They upheld the foul ball call. The home plate umpire then called the same Stanford batter out on a clearly inside pitch.

Somehow the PAC12 defensive player of the year played on that same grass and dirt this year. :gasp:

I had similar thoughts about the beautiful grass field -- and much easier to slide on real dirt!
