OT: UT and The Beach Boys
Caught an interview with Al Jardine, longtime rhythm
guitarist of the Beach Boys. He traced his musical roots to
his parents, Donald and Virginia who met as members of the University of Toledo Orchestra. His dad was also the photographer for the UT Yearbook. Donald Jardine was hired by the WPA as a photographer upon graduating and was responsible for many of the photos of on-campus WPA projects of the day.
The family eventually moved out to California where Al was the Center on a HS FB team with a back up QB named Brian Wilson. It was the beginning of a relationship that led to the formation of the Beach Boys, one of the most prolific musical groups of all time.

Thursday August 16, 1990. The Marshall Tucker Band was the opening act. Beach Boys did about a 30 song set list of classics back then. The Glass Bowl hasn't really hosted too many concerts.

I don’t think Nick(Saban) was all too thrilled to have a concert on the brand new turf & stadium renovation two weeks before the season kickoff !!
