The $23 million payment from the city to the grizzlies is actually a discounted amount agreed to by the grizzlies, it is not a subsidy it is a discount the grizzlies gave the city, A discount from a contract the grizzlies had signed with the city.

If the grizzlies had not come here the city of Memphis and state of TN would not have any different Attitude about paying for our facilities.

FedExForum upgrades and liberty bowl upgrades are completely unrelated.

I did not write the article. Tell them they are stupid and leave me out of it. 03-lmfao

Leave you out of it. You’ve been a Grizzlies troll for years here. Why they continually allow you posting rights here In this forum of Grizzlies fans is bizarre. Hey Nashville, please just leave us alone. Ya’ll have a NFL stadium to build.

So you are against freedom of speech?

Graceland wanted to build a 6,200-seat arena using public funds, but was denied by the city’s non-compete clause with FedExForum. Over 600,000 visitors see Graceland and the local economic impact is about $150,000,000 per year. Therefore, the Griz have a competitive advantage over all other venues - including iconic Graceland.

serious question:

Why would you post something that makes you look so stupid?

The Grizzlies have the no compete clause because they are running the FedExForum and are responisble for all operating losses of the arena. they accepted that responsibility , the city granted the non-compete clause to get them to accept the responsibility.

IT IS A CONTRACT that the city negotiated. The city thinks it benefits them so they have continued the arrangement.

Again with the personal attacks. Is there nothing in your quiver except insults? Stop being so sensitive.

I merely point out Graceland (who to the best of my knowledge does not have a non-compete clause to help with their operational costs) cannot build a venue using public funds unlike the Griz and it is an advantage to the Griz.

They cannot wrap their head around the concept it is possible to want the Griz to win, but still post commentary about the wisdom and cost/benefit of deals luring the Griz. Surprisingly, it is heresy.

Other entities cannot compete with the Griz in the same way as the Griz. Therefore, it is an advantage to the Griz. Graceland certainly thinks it is an advantage (see article I linked).

I am a big concert attender. I never see Memphis on the list of the more popular concert tours anymore. Memphis used to get them all. Now they get none. Kinda sad actually
