With the way this economy is grinding to halt and gas & diesel prices sky rocketing, whatever price they came up with, you need to double it.

prices going up are actually a sign of a booming economy...thus the rate hike.

No. Prices going up are a sign of inflation, which isn't good. The intention of the rate hike is to slow inflation. NOT a booming economy. #economics101

and what does inflation mean? In econ class I was told it means supply can't keep up with money generated by the growing economy. flip side is hyper-inflation but we've already maxed out.

as for how morons get elected...just look at 2016
as for how morons attack democracy...see Jan 6

Inflation is a decrease in the purchasing power of the dollar. Small inflation may be good and help the economy, but the amount of inflation we're seeing is most definitely bad.

Even Biden has admitted it's bad:

This is true. We were in quicksand during Rip's time. Nice guy, just never got anything done.

My main issue with Rip was that he never did anything about the players that were being paid by UT, UK and Bama.

I would have yelled and screamed to expose that a lot sooner than the Albert Means thing was discovered.

Tommy West was a breath of fresh air following Rip...Tommy was able to capitalize on Rip's recruiting plus managed to get DeAngelo and Gostkowski. If not for a 4th and 27 gut punch he would have had 6 bowl games while at Memphis.

West didn't "get" Gostkowski. He was a scholarship baseball player, a pitcher, who walked on the football team.

yep, the coaches saw he 'had it' and the rest is history...that's getting a player...it's why I didn't say recruited.

he did well with Rip's recruits.

Rip benefitted from some really good Stobart guys. Richie Floyd, Ron Sells, Chris Powers, Tony Williams, Richard Hogans, Marvin Thomas, Marqus Bowling (walkon)Tim Hart, Mike McKenzie,, Keith Spann, Bryan Barnett, Jerome Woods and others.

5 of those were weedon recruits if memory serves me correct.

RIP played a role behind the scenes w the FBI and DAs office.
RIP coached in the NFL and at UCLA after us so I find it hard to say he not a good coach, from two former coaches - he would agree upon a game plan and change some or a lot of it on Thursdays - more than they liked - cold feet I guess.

If you look at leaders, the fact he left his defense alone was something most first time executives/managers/coaches do not do. Credit well deserved for not messing with something really solid at the time.

Simply did not land enough athletes on both sides of the ball and on the second team on both sides - this coming from one of our defensive coaches on the staff.

I still remember Tony Williams eating Peyton Manning alive all day. They could not handle him.
