A little more info on the tournament.........Army is the fourth team in the tourney. They will play Princeton, the winner of the Ives last year while open with Manhattan.

Our opening game against Manhatten just got a lot easier. Their well liked head coach was just fired and their best player, a guy named Perez...18 ppg along with almost 5 a.pg is leaving the team. There will probably be others.

Yep. Then again I wasn't overly concerned about playing Manhattan.

Omar Silverio, 11 ppg transfer from Hofstra enters the Portal.

Samba Diallo enters the Portal. Manhattan killed in the Portal this year with two four star and a three star transfer. One of the four star guys seems to be gone.

I looked at their message board. They're not surprised at Masiello getting the boot, it was the timing they're pissed about.

Word here in NYC is he wanted a multi-year deal and the AD just offered a 1 year deal. They never were eye-to-eye since she arrived.

Exactly. The players loved him but they haven't been good in a while and he wanted an extention! Maybe the coach thought he deserved the extention based on the team he put together for 22-23. Before Perez left (preseason conference POY) they lost their 6'9" all conference big. The coach kind of reminds me of the W&M coach whose top strenth seems to be recruiting not overall results. Still, it stinks to fire a coach two weeks before the regular season. Maybe they thought it would be too late for players to transfer.
