Portal
I've seen it said that most players who hit the portal end up missing a seat in musical chairs. Someone posted a list on the Texas board. There are still 10 former Longhorns in the portal without a place to play.

RE: Portal
How many of those were pushed to enter the portal and told they would get no playing time? Maybe all of them. This is probably Sark making room for his own recruits, just as Riley is doing at USC.

Here is the list of former Longhorns.

I know at least one former Texas player has transferred to a FCS school and has started workouts with his new team. For whatever reason, he hasn’t announced this on social media.

Probably the majority, but the point is that these were Texas recruits, so probably all 3 or 4 star out of HS, who have not found a place to go. Sometimes not only is the grass not greener, sometimes there is no grass.

Haven't found a home at all or haven't found one that they feel suites their talents? I find it hard to believe that these guys haven't had an offer from a single FCS or G5 program.

Or, maybe the grass would have been greener if they had gone somewhere else in the first place.

On any of the teams where they recruit well enough to go 4 or 5 deep on the depth chart at every position, some of the players will get no playing time and not even practice time with the first or second unit, and will be pushed out to make room for the next crop of elite recruits. Each of these kids was told throughout high school that he is a superstar, and then he goes to a big-name program where everyone was a HS superstar, and there isn't enough playing time for all of them.

Could that just be an indication that they were over-rated in the first place? Maybe over-rated because they were being recruited by Texas?
