RE: good news
it was in the CA...sounds like he's not too keen at his age on traveling all over so he might take on a non traveling position such as asst to the HC.

which means most likely Shawn Forrest and Jermaine Johnson will get bumped up to Asst Coach and Larry will back fill one of those roles.

This is obviously fake news because all the experts here said he's not coming back.

Absolutely. Larry ups our program’s national profile. He’s good for several closeups and nice comments from the announcers every broadcast game.
Plus, he’s a pull with recruits and a great help on the bench.

Exactly! GREAT NEWS!! Larry Brown could be on the Mt Rushmore of NCAA Bball HC.

BTW: my Mt Rushmore of NCAA College Coaching is Coach K (# wins), Adolph Rupp (win %), John Wooden (Titles), Bob Knight.

Close but no cigar IMO: Roy Williams, Dean Smith, Jim Boeheim, Bill Self, Phog Allen and Larry Brown

3rd Tier: Bob Huggins, Jim Calhoun

Jerry Tarkanian, Rick Pitino and Cal are all special in their own right, but aren't "clean" enough in public opinion (mostly BS) to go on the Mt Rushmore .

Jim Phelan, Lefty Driessel and Mark Phew are special too. Love how they've made a name for themselves and remained as pillars for their universities rather than "stepping up" to a Blue Blood.

Mine are Dana Kirk--Larry Finch--Gene Bartow--Bobby Knight--Anfernee Hardaway--the guy that won a global championship--Verties Sales Sr.--Wayne Yates--Lee Fowler

You hate Bobby Knight? LMAO!!

Bobby wore his sack in the front and not the back like that group you support.

A gal once told me the closest she ever came to a lesbian experience was kissing a liberal man.

So true. Crazy that he's coming back to work with a HC who just won't listen to him.
It would be interesting to see who all told us he was gone. But I'm not going to do the legwork.
In the media - John Martin for sure, when he wasn't giggling that Brown might be dead this time next year. Calkins and GP I don't think ever said definitely gone, but they said likely gone.

Probably a combination of 2 from Forrest, Jermaine, Brown - plus 1 NBA connected guy.
