When fans predict 7-5, it usually does not translate to a good season. Hopefully, Ryan can prove the sports media & the fanbase wrong. He needs 8-9 wins this year to turn it around.

RE: Ryan Silverfield 7th Best Coach In AAC Poll
This is what - his 3rd year? Supposedly we've had good recruiting classes and I think this year may be pivotal for him. I think anything less than 8 wins would be an indication that his upside as a HC may be limited. Just my opinion.
Offensively its seems to be all on Seth's shoulders: unless a RB and a WR break out we're playing by committee. compared to our Fuente and Norvell years our offense seems to be a bit more pedestrian.
The good news is that if RS has learned through last year's experience not to take his foot off the gas when we have a lead - perhaps we bag a few more toss-up games. That would be swell.

I think think the Tigers can do 8-3. If the OL is improved that is definitely doable.

You may want to check your arithmetic as there are 12 games in a season.

last year
So we give it another year. Everything is a couple of years late around here.
What will the win threshold be for CRS once the conference is depleted and we are playing the newbees?

I’d say about the same as now if Clark is still at UAB and if he can’t beat San Antonio. You’ll have SMU, Navy, Tulane, Temple, Memphis, Tulsa and ECU that will all be similar year in and year out. Who gets the breaks staying injury free, gets the lucky bounces, and the least bad calls from the pile of dog sh!t AAC refs will be the best team of that bunch in any given year.
My biggest thing right now is I just wish the people at the ticket office would stop calling and emailing me about football and basketball season tix.

Uh yeah. Make that 8-4. Overlooked Houston.

I want Silverfield to succeed and lead us back to that conference Championship game where we belong. And this is his year to prove he can build a winning football program. But if we don't win at least 8 games this season, and Mike Norvell is looking for a job...

People used to complain because no one from the ticket office called them.

Didn't renew this year and they wont stop bugging me. I've been nice so far, but I am about to tell them off the next time one calls me. Football and basketball games are becoming more and more of a hassle. It's such a long drive each way to LBMS and FEF. We'll still tailgate with some friends and attend a few games and make a couple trips downtown for hoops if there's any good home games on schedule. But i think season ticket days are over.

When I turned 70 (four years ago) I let my basketball season tkts go. I go to a lot fewer Tiger games now but I also go to a few Grizzlies games. There are only 7 football games and Liberty Stadium is a lot less hassle than downtown. So i kept those season tkts. Still watch every game on TV, and still love my Tigers. Hope I can keep going to games in the future. It is just a matter of balance. P.S. don't blame the people who are calling you they are only doing their job. Message the AD, the HC, and the President they are the ones who can take you off the list.

Fair point. I'm mid 40s and maybe just an old soul, but I just have gotten to dislike crowds. Football game days arent as bad as hoops. Can make a day of it, tailgate, etc. Driving all the way downtown, paying to park, dealing with the bums and so forth 20 times a season is a pain. Conference games in both are about to be really lousy and quite frankly, just not that interesting. Maybe I am just bummed that we are left behind. I shouldn't be though. Never expected for 1 second that we'd get the call up. I guess what I am saying is that I have found every reason not to renew. But, I enjoy the peace & quiet of watching football on my patio TV. Add to that. my wife is on me more and more with every passing day that she wants to GTFO of Memphis area. She has me job hunting in Nash and east TN. So might as well give up my tix now.

We moved in 2003 so when the Tigers moved to FedEx Forum I did not renew my basketball tickets that I had since the Coliseum.
I still buy the football tickets, been in basically the same seats with a group of 8 since the late 80's. I let my daughter and her husband use those tickets as they can or let someone use. I will make a game or two a year, and when the Tigers are at SMU or UNT (next year) I go.

Just wondering….how many of those coaches have been part of a cotton Bowl experience, gone 8-3 and moved the recruiting needle the way Ryan has
Small number
Yeah---he should get full credit for that bowl

Y'all realize this poll really heavily weighs longevity. Considering that CRS started at #11 and has moved up 2 places each season don't know why anyone would think this reflects his actual ability as a head coach. Remember he had the best first year record of any coach in Tiger history, and he continues to have better and better best recruiting classes each year! My only concern is if he is willing to be aggressive and thus entertaining. I love victories, but I also love thrills.
