Clemson eliminated swimming and diving when they were faced with having to build new facilities.
Clemson softball is in it's third year of existence and appears to be revenue producing.

The need for money will continue to reduce "Olympic" sports.
Miami and Wake Forest may need to eliminate non revenue producers in favor of sports that can pay for themselves.

Clemson has since added women’s gymnastics. Softball helps with Title IX, is growing, and has more revenue potential than a lot of women’s sports.

VT, Clemson and Duke advance to the Super-Regionals.
ND, GT and FSU failed to advance.
FSU had to win one of 2 games today and lost both.

Clemson looked very strong yesterday and today. VT barely made it.

Yeah but we're the only ACC team to host their Super-Regional.

Duke is facing elimination tonight @UCLA.
VT and Florida are going to game #3 tomorrow.

The ACC could go from being the best regular season softball league to having no team in the WCWS.

Well at least the B1G had Michigan and usually tOSU in the CFP.
Unless you're talking about Basketball where the B1G optimizes their schedules to get the maximum # of teams in the tournament and then miss the final four?
Then yes, I'm saying we're the Big ten of softball.

I hope this isn't like Men's Lacrosse where the ACC is the best league all year and then has no teams in the final four.

Edit : I just heard the commentators on the Duke @UCLA game say that the SEC got 12 teams into the tournament this year. So maybe the ACC wasn't the best softball league.
