The rise of hard-right MAGA happened 7 years ago, long before this inflation and gas prices.
But even now, election denialism, "groomers", "woke", gun obsessions, white grievance, etc., are right up there with the economy in terms of importance, probably even more so, despite the closed-end poll questions.
Check the polls. Second amendment, abortion, and your MAGA talking points are low. Economy and inflation overwhelmingly top the list. Keep focusing on the fringe 10%, that's what the media wants you to do. Regular Americans are fed up. Biden created this mess by declaring war on fossil fuels and out of control spending. His anti inflation bill added to inflation, what kind of nonsense is that?
Saying you’re intellectually dishonest would be nasty to people that are really intellectually dishonest.

How did he declare war on fossil fuels?
Did you know we were actually a net exporter of oil this year? Our reliance on foreign oil has been dwindling since George W Bush was in office.

Day-to-day, sure, inflation is pretty top of mind. Biden didn't single-handedly "create this mess," but I get that the buck always stops at the President when the economy takes a downturn.
But c'mon now... Conservatives' far-right drift is grounded in reasons far deeper and more broadly: Changing ethnic demographics, secularization and social tolerances (e.g., gay marriage, #metoo, "happy holidays" on cups, etc.) have upset the centuries-long Straight White Christian power dynamic.
It wasn't sudden. The seeds got planted in the Tea Party and got revved up when a black man became President. Trump wasn't the cause of all this, he's a symptom. He released all that pent-up frustration and normalized this Archie Bunker behavior, things guys like RINOs Romney and McCain "failed" to do.

Inflation is world wide and the US’s is the lowest of the industrialized world.
Jobs are the number one metric. They aren’t whining about that now, are they?! That, and while they complain about numerous issues, their big plans if they take power, there is no mention of addressing. Wonder why? ?

I often see those questioning why people keep being so focused on Trump.
It's obvious: He is the GOP ringleader, the man behind the curtain directly involved in state-level races across the country. To his delight, he's not 'yesterday's news'.
Here we have Trump ordering the AZ GOP Senate candidate to ramp up the election fraud claims after he started backing away from it.

That "You are obsessed with Trump" is an obvious disingenuous, red herring. The guy puts himself in the middle, he's the leader of one of our major political parties. He stirs up his mouth breathing base to the point of violence, rouge militia groups are threatening and openly intimidating voters because of his election lies.
Of course we discuss him. We'd much rather he (and his base) would go away to be honest. They're a danger to us and our Republic.
