Cryptic Tweet by CMU Recruiting Coordinator
Central Michigan Recruiting Coordinator Christon Calley tweeted yesterday, "I have a feeling one of the 313's finest is coming home!"

https://twitter.com/CoachCalley21/status...a0irEqAAAA

My hunch is he's referring to former Purdue and Detroit King standout DB Marvin Grant, who was a consensus 4-star recruit in the 2019 class coming out of Detroit MLK High School. He chose Purdue over 19 other offers, including Michigan, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Iowa and CMU.

Grant, who's listed at 6-2, 210, entered the transfer portal on May 1 and visited Kansas last week. He would be a huge addition to the back end of the Chippewa defense with two years of eligibility remaining.

Thanks for your efforts BeatWestern....I'm sure Mac and his staff are constantly monitoring the portal for possible additions.

Once again the NFL draft shows that CMU can be a great path to the NFL.

I feel really good about this team this coming year and what this roster has. It could be another special year for Chippewa football.

But, yes, I’m sure the staff is still looking for anyone in the portal that can help or provide depth.

Okay, right school, wrong former Detroit MLK player in the portal. It's WR Jalen McGaughy.
