That one of our two FCS games this year will be bought out for an FBS team? Or will we have to get to 7-5 to go to a bowl?

1. It's worth it to get out of CUSA, now.

2. It's still just 5 FBS wins for a bowl. Don't think of it as having to win seven games. It's not really the same thing. We aren't playing FCS teams that are gonna rear up and beat us. And if they do, getting a bowl is the least of our worries.

3. There literally wasn't another team with an opening in FBS. None. I think JMU vs MTSU was the last game filled just prior to our leaving CUSA. And we already play JMU anyways. So thee are no games to replace the FCS with unless some kind of emergency happens with weather or COVID or something.

I'd say it's too late to replace them unless there is some weird cancellation due to weather (hurricane, it's happened before) or COVID.

But if this was what we had to do to get into the SBC early then I'm all for it. If we can only muster 7-5 then we have more to worry about than a bowl game.

I imagine that given the circumstances for the late add of the second game, the NCAA could provide a waiver allowing Marshall and or App to go bowling.

I was wondering the same thing with having two FCS games this season.

Even with the increased strength of schedule and the kinks to work out with the new QB and OC, I sure hope with the talent coming in we can manage 5 wins against FBS opponents.
