How good is Monarch MBB supposed to be this year? Will the VT game be competitive in Charleston?

Heard that we will struggle vs. Bill & Mary. Bill, we can beat but probably not Mary.

Interested to see all of them tonight, but Jason Wade is the one I'll be watching most closely.

If you are going in expecting us to be a good shooting team, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. This team will go as far as their defense takes them.

In terms of post play, I think we will be fine. I don't expect Fields or Williams to be as good offensively as Trice/Ezikpe, but I think they will defend well and rebound. They are also pretty good athletes. I hope to see Stanley play some as a small ball 5 as well bc he has the strength to play down low.

Charles Smith didn't show it last year, but he can shoot. Stanley will attempt some threes. Scott-Grayson is a decent shooter. It remains to be seen how Baker/Stines/Johnson will perform in gametime but each of them have decent strokes.

Last year, I don't believe Hunter got the shooters in good spots to shoot. Im hoping that the improved athleticism of the players, in general, and the pass first mindset of Imo/Brown will lead to more open looks. But, Im not expecting a great shooting team. This team will be an athletic defensive squad that rebounds well (IMO).

Any way for us out-of-towners to watch the exhibition?

Other than at the Ted, there is not. They're using tonight as a test for the new broadcast set-up and it wont be aired.

I know it's been beat to death. But somehow looking at our home OOC slate on the physical tickets makes it look even worse.

CNU, UMES, VA Wesleyan, ECU, NSU, W&M, Gardner-Webb, Mason

That has to be the worst home schedule OOC in the last 20 years. There's only two teams on there that even have a pulse. Sad thing is, we likely won't even win them all.

ECU is also pretty talented, they just lack the depth to compete in a very good AAC.
