Well, obviously. No team in our conference is unbeatable.

The difficulty in judging is that only a couple actually have a strong non conference schedule where they are tested. There are some teams with great records (and net ratings), but they didnt play anyone. Marshall and JMU were hit or miss in games against teams with a pulse.

Yes. The Coppin St road loss by JMU is inexcusable. Coppin St is not good and JMU was like a 15 point favorite at least. The UNCG loss on the road is a diff story. That’s a good program. They have been in tournaments numerous times of late and play really tough D. Marshall may have been a 3 point favorite. Honestly I’d hope ODU could split w them. I would still say on a neutral floor ODU would be 6 point dog to both teams. I’ve watched both teams play and IMO Marshall has the higher ceiling. I think they are plenty deep. They might only play 7/8 guys but they have some talent at the bottom of the roster that doesn’t see the floor. Both teams are def beatable but both teams pass the eye test more so than ODU right now. If ODU keeps getting better…. Who knows. If TSG can start playing some consistent bball. If he’s gonna go 3-12 like he has a few times this season then ODU is going to be average at best. But the way he played against GMU, then all of a sudden ODU can beat some teams. He’s the X factor cause he could be all conference but I can’t figure out what player he’s gonna be. And more production from Stanley wouldn’t hurt either.

Thats about right in terms of projected spread.

TSG has certainly had a couple stinkers but I was pleasantly surprised when I check on his overall numbers today.

My impression was the Jenkins was playing a lot better ,but Im not sure that is true. He certainly has been better at making shots.

Long isn't asked to score on his own, but I think you could make a case for him being the most valuable player this year. Obviously- he wouldn't be suited to be a primary scorer, but he brings everything to the table. TSGs passing numbers being so good surprised me.

Yeah so it was obvious in the first game that TSG is a talented guy. Good size for a guard w play making ability and good form on his jumper. But if he’s just gonna score 10-12 a game and shoot 25 percent from 3 then ODU is gonna be average. If he becomes a real threat and all conference type player then ODU has a shot to do some damage. That’s the way I see it. Jenkins is just young. You can see his upside but he turns it over and makes some poor decisions. Long is the ultimate glue guy. Love his game if he doesn’t shoot too much. He needs to just take the corner threes and drive the basket for the rest of his offense. Along w garbage buckets. Not sure on Stanley. He’s got to find a way to up his production a little. I thought he’d be a better shooter.

Nice group of opponents there. I imagine they are all looking at us as the cupcake of the field. Would be nice to win a couple there. I would imagine a trip to Hawaii would help out with recruiting transfers a little.

Wondering if that field will entice a power conference school to be the final entry. Should be attractive for a middle to bottom half team.

I don't understand the voting/ranking of mid major madness right now.

Louisiana, now 10-2 dropped out of the rankings by losing at #7 Texas. Seems weird. No JMU (at least getting a few votes). Marshall in there but no Southern Miss with Net rankings of 65 and 34 vs a pedestrian Richmond at 6-6 and a net of 142 has votes.

Even ODU at 8-4 and a net of 129 and an RPI of 56 is better than Richmond's is rpi of 171.

South Alabama has some really good players. I don't know if that makes them a really good team come the end of the year (WKU every single year), but the talent is certainly there.

Louisiana best win is vs. SMU. They have a weak schedule as well.

I agree. South Bama has some VA connections as well. Its just hard to gauge with them since they have zero good wins so far. They did have some fairly competitive games vs. tough teams.
